A showcase, of all the special guest acts you will meet during any of the careers, I've went with the band career and its order as shown down below. Times Square don't count because, while you do meet the special guest acts there, and there is a special intro, trying to get the special intro won't work on a completed save. The other reason, this mainly focuses on their first time encounter (i.e. meeting Sting at Will Heilm's Keep, Ozzy at Ozzfest, etc), just before going to Time's Square and Sunna's Chariot.
All characters will be unlocked by simply doing their song on the respective instrument (minus Jimi Hendrix, as he's locked out entirely, though his clothing is available in Create a Rockstar).
Billy Corgan (Guitar and vocals, or just guitar) (encountered at Bone Church)
Zakk Wylde (Guitar and vocals, or just guitar) (encountered at Swamp Shack)
Hayley Williams (Vocals) (encountered at Amoeba Records)
Ted Nugent (Guitar) (encountered at Strutters Farm)
Travis Barker (Drums, forced to play as him in Drum Career) (encountered at Rock Brigade)
Sting (Bass and vocals, or just bass) (encountered at Will Heilm's Keep)
Jimi Hendrix (Guitar and vocals, either one is forced to play as him in either the Guitar, Vocals, or Band careers (if you have either a guitarist or vocalist)). (encountered at AT&T Park)
Ozzy Osbourne (Vocals) (encountered at Ozzfest, Zakk Wylde will take place as the guitarist, unless you're playing as a guitarist, or at least have one active in band career.)
