Finding day 3 too difficult? Check out my NEW 10 day program for Winter 2022/23 here ▶www.andyguitar.co.uk/courses/new-10-day-beginner-acoustic-challenge I've learned a lot since making this original 10 day series and have put everything I've learned into making this new series even better, especially for those who struggle with this one and want more support and help jamming along up to speed. I truly hope it helps the absolute beginners out there achieve their goals, or helps rekindle a love for guitar for anyone revisiting learning in 2023!
To everyone with sore fingers, it gets better! I’m on week two of watching Andy and I can switch way faster now with no pain. Just keep practicing, it’s worth it! Andy is amazing. Now, back to my finger drills :)
Yeah, just give it a month. You will develop callous and then you won't feel the pain, not as much as you used feel initially. I have been playing for 5 weeks, now I can switch between chords faster
Yes, I am. Because I always played the A Chord with "three in a row." I never thought of playing an A chord in a different way, other than the obvious barre chord.
I am 100% new to guitar (at the age of 40) and these lessons are the best I have found on RU-vid so far. Thank you!!! I have always wanted to play and you are making it possible.
I’m 11 and wanted to learn guitar because my school said they were putting together a band for the kindergartners to listen to, and that warmed my heart so I’m trying this out for them. Even though my hands hurt like hell, I’m having a great time and hopefully I will qualify for the school band. Thanks Andy!
Listen kid...even if you don't make the band this time round, please don't give up. Learning guitar is one of the best things you can ever do and making music is simply brilliant. Believe me when I say, you will not regret it and Andy is a brilliant teacher. Good luck amigo...
I did in fact make it! This was last year and all, but I made band class and become a semi musician. I can play the buddy holly riff now lol. There doing it again, so I’m going to go do it. Thanks for the love guys!
At the ripe old age of 60, I have just picked up a guitar and finding Andy's lessons absolutely superb. Really getting a lot from these videos, so a massive thanks from me Andy!
My chords sound awful unless I'm ultra slow. Changing from one to the other is really hard, however, I'm a week in practicing on day 3 and really enjoying it. I'm sure I'll get better with time and patience. Thank you for these lessons as they're great.
Yeah I agree, he really helps you understand the basics, it's why this starter course is really good for beginners and he has such a great personality... I give you like a 9/10 Andy!!!!
No need to look anywhere else for tutorials. Many thanks for giving me the best tutorial a beginner could ask for. Andy so much for sharing your skill of playing and the brilliant way you share that skill.
Dude you have given me SO MUCH HOPE! I have had this guitar for like.. 4 year maybe and never even touched it much. Then I got a wild hair to pick it up again. You have taught me so much and I’m actually really really excited!! Thank you for this simple and fun tutorial!!
I began to learn guitar a while but gave up for about a year due to it being to difficult and not having motivation to practice. Less then a week ago I have started learning again using RU-vid this time instead of expensive lessons and I'm already enjoying it so much more. Your lessons are easy to follow and even if the chord sounds bad I'm still proud of myself by the end, so thank you for these videos and for helping me learn this! Also to anyone else with finger pain, as long as you don't over do it to the point you get blisters it will get easier quite quickly after a couple days it barely hurts, or at the very least is bearable, don't give up! :)
I really love this tutorial series, it's just PERFECT for beginners. At the beginning actually I was like "I wanna play songs I like", I was so impatient, but then I realized you need to learn by beginning with this and I realized how these videos are amazing. Thank you for teaching us guitar Andy ❤
I am almost 62 now and picked up a guitar in isolation and having so much fun and playing three little birds from memory. I am very motivated to continue. Thank you
Kudos for the Video clip! Apologies for the intrusion, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you researched - Riddleagan Blossoming Solo Remedy (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a great one off guide for mastering guitar scales without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my buddy finally got astronomical success with it.
I have always started guitar and lost interest but watching Andy's videos have made me want to play even more but the only drawback is the beast called blisters
Ive tried over the years to learn the guitar. Ive been in a couple garage bands as lead singer/songwriter. But never been able to figure out playing guitar. I had very good guitarists try to show me simple chords and it just never clicked. So, I saw this and decided to give it 1 final try. Just finished day 3. I can keep up with the lesson and I successfully played day 2 song yesterday. I honestly never thought id ever be able to play. But I have a new level of confidence and with practice (and Andy's tutorials lol) I am sure I will be proficient in a reasonable amount of time. Thank you sir for your straight forward approach and making it really exciting to finally be able to play my favorite instrument. Nothing but good vibes to you Andy!!
I’ve tried to learn to play so many times and given up and actually being able to recognize this song when i play it is such a cool feeling. :) thank you quarantine!
Have already taken some lessons from other RU-vid instructors but I didn't stick with it, became inactive and lost a few months. Andy's lessons are much better. Being pushed to complete a whole songs is much for fulfilling and I'm actually doing it. After this set of lessons I'll go on to the electric guitar lessons to see what damage I can do there. ha
So glad I spent a couple of days practising switching between all three chords before moving on to day 3, I was actually able to keep up with the whole lesson without pausing or rewinding, thank you!
These tutorials are a dream! First time ever playing the guitar and finding myself playing actual songs! Woot woot 😊 The way you teach in simple, well explained steps makes it so easy to follow along! Thanks a million!
Im doing this!!! I loooove his lessons and it's a LOT of fun!!! Thanks Andy!!! You're the man!!! I'm playing Ukulele too thanks to you!!! Am 69 yrs young and if I can do it with small fingers, others can too!!! Thanks Andy!!!
Andy, after almost 10 years wanting to play the guitar, I'm finally doing it!!! Great easy to follow vids! Thank you so much!! Now I feel I will be able to play anything in just some time with a lot of practice... Looking forward to day 10 !
I was so tired of going for guitar lessons that would teach me twinkle twinkle little star while all I wanted to play was highway star! I'm so glad I found these tutorials with the kind of music I want to learn with. Thanks, Andy!
Oh my god, after struggling so much to change chords on day 1 and improving just a bit on day 2 (but still doing badly), I shot my shot here and I got to do it perfectly somehow? And not just once, it just happens magically now! I'm progressing, I can feel it. Thanks Andy for these course, I'm really enjoying it so far Quick tip: if you want to practice switching chords a bit more before performing with Andy, use a metronome and practice with the rhythm!
I`m learning in 2018, at first I saw your lessons and felt so discouraged but now It seems easy and you just make learning guitar seem more easy to me. Love from Kenya God Bless you.
Shot out from Brazil, Andy!! You're awesome, man! Thank you so much for making this content available to us rookies. I have a request, if possible? Gotta perform Holy Spirit by Jesus Culture. If you could post a tutorial on it, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Started my practice tonight really discouraged by my progress - Followed your video for day 2 and felt so much more positive about playing - even managed to keep up with Born in the USA despite my fingers hurting!!! Thanks Andy, really appreciate your videos.
managed to speed run through this in about 25 minutes(all 3) at the moment everything including switching is quite easy but it may be just due to lost experience in the past
cancelled my plectrum order off amazon and ordered them again from your site. will get the dvd course from your site too once I've bought my new guitar. Thankyou so much for your easy to understand and follow course mate. you're a star
I bought a guitar a while ago and haven't really touched it because it was harder than I thought (I know, naive of me) but these videos have really made it fun again! I've picked it up, started practicing to your videos and I feel like I've made more progress in four days than I had in the months since I bought it. Thank you so much for these!
You do well to keep smiling as you've been teaching my wife fir three days. My son follows you and is wondering how you are coping on what must be your hardest task yet.
Excellent demo Andy!!! Your song choice is lovely and your are awesome for helping teach Humanity the guitar!!! May Our Precious Creator of Life bless you greatly for sharing your time and talents with Humanity!!!!
Hello Andy. Thank you so much. I follow your lessons and now I can play a few songs. I even wrote a beautiful song in A and E chords. My band will help me with it. Thank you for making it seem so easy and for being beautiful
Love watching your videos you make learning to play fun and easy for someone like me with ADD/ADHD. I am headed into day four tomorrow but I am still having issues getting my rhythm down just right for this song and Born in The USA
Admittedly only on day 3 but these tutorials are fantastic. Learning more each and day, all in what seems to be a logical order meaning practice is hugely beneficial to things coming more naturally
Oh my god man!!!! I've learned so much more with your videos in 20 minutes than i did by myself trying to memorize all the chords man!!! Awesome videos man!!!!
Loving lesson 6, thank you Andy ! had to repeat 5 and 6 a couple of times but got it! 🤸♀️🤸♀️💪. I go through my quarantine day thinking : I have to get to my guitar . It is a priority dear Andy, you are an inspiration, thx for sharing
