I'd juts like to say I love seeing videos like this out on youtube. I wouldn't be posting these comments if I didn't really REALLY love this song. I think I must have seen every live version of it, trying to see just what the hell Isaac is doing. There is even a version with an improv-part. Still trying to figure it out, but perhaps I will try posting my own guitar lesson of that live performance once I got it on lock. Cheers. Much love from fellow MM fan
The verses go: 9th fret on the A-string, 11th fret on the D-string, 12th fret on the D-string, 12th fret on the A-string, 11th fret on the D-string, 12th fret on the D-string, 12th fret on the A-string, 11th fret on the A-string. And repeat
cool, me too:) anything from lonesome crowded west is amazing and cowboy dan was one of my favorites i saw them lie a couple times and that was cool to see the play cowboy dan too
hey, thanks for the informed comments. i've been so happy since RU-vid came out to get to watch Modest Mouse, Smiths, Joy Division clips ... my favorite bands growing up and it's crazy to get to see all these cool clips and interviews and live performances ... if you ever make some lessons or covers for MM songs, post some vid responses. i'll sub you to see if you post anything ... did you like the last 2 MM albums? I kind of lost interest in their newer stuff, but love older MM
hey, that's cool you're into early modest mouse, they got me into guitar and songwriting more than any other band. good to know you appreciate the vids:) are there any newer bands you're into? i've been trying to find some newer music i like, be cool if you have some suggestions,
All of these are great, though you know you can bend harmonics without a whammy bar, just push the strings down onto the bar separating the frets after you ring the harmonics, then you can bend the strings up or down. I'm really getting into the guitar because of your videos haha
I'm a big Joy Division (and New Order) fan. I've never been too keen on The Smiths for some reason. Maybe that's why I'm not super exited on the later albums. I do enjoy them, but Marrs' riffs sound is little too clean and surfer-ish for my taste. I'd love to do some covers and put them up on youtube. Perhaps after I see MM live in Oslo this summer I will be inspired too. Looking forward that and perhaps I will pick up on some more of Isaacs riffs :) Favourite album: This is a Long Drive... :)
