Thanks you for the video :) Your hapiness is one of the seven wonders of this world, I love to see it :) I liked your first lesson so much, keep up the good work :P
*buys guitar in quarantine and was inspired by a British youtuber who is around 24 and goes by the name wilbur soot* Yea let’s pretend I had this guitar for years😅😅😅
My sister got this guitar like over 8 years ago but never really used it, and its just been sitting in my attic so I decided to try and learn. But the thing is it doesn’t have a high e string atm :,)
My husband and i are in our 40s. We both wanted to learn to play as kids but never did. We've bought guitars and have been exploring RU-vid for tutorials. Your videos are leaps and bounds better for true beginners than any others we've found. THANK YOU for making these. We are looking forward to this journey with you as our guide.
Aww that is so sweet! 🥰 The idea of both of you learning together makes me so happy, especially because this video helped get you started! 🎸🎶 I'm rooting for you both and hope that you'll have fun jamming to more songs with me in each episode! 🙌 Thanks so much for watching, and happy practicing! 💕
I begged my mom to buy me a Washburn acoustic guitar when I was about 14. It was pretty expensive and we were far from wealthy but she is so kind and ended up buying it for me. 20 years later... I figure now might be a good time to learn how to play it.
They always do. I always find that chords that stretch the pinkie usually hurt at first, but the longer you play them, the less it hurts. And the longer you play guitar, the more flexible your fingers will become
I recognized that you have a Wilbur Soot pfp. I’m assuming that you are trying to play his songs. If you are, I’d recommend practicing a bit more, because his songs have a lot of bar chords, and those can hurt your fingers if you are new to the instrument
Thank you so much I couldn’t but let go of a tear when you said it was my first song, when I was younger I got discouraged by someone very close to me about learning guitar but I’m glad I gave it another shot thank you for giving me the confidence I needed.
Aww I'm sorry you were discouraged when you were young, but I'm so excited that you decided to give it another try! 🎉 Learning guitar is definitely a goal you can achieve with some patience and practice! 💪 Rooting for you! 🎸
Finally a teacher that is not talking for hours to come to the point. You are keeping a long story short and that is amazing. I am loving it. Thank you so much.
that is totally normal. some guitar chord shapes make us practice hand positions that you'd never have to make otherwise, so it can feel very uncomfortable and honestly a little weird at first. 😂 but as you practice more, you'll get more used to it and eventually it won't be a big deal. 🤗 it's all about developing that muscle memory with a little bit of practice every day! you can do it! 💪 and thanks for watching! 💕
@@kkuraholic Don’t always push on the chords rest your fingers unless your strumming and if your fingers are white you’re pushing too hard (plus the more you practise the less it hurts)
Love love love!!! I have always wanted to play the acoustic guitar. I am now 62 years old and my husband bought a guitar for me knowing that this was something I’ve always wanted. I can’t believe that you taught me to play a song for the very first day that I had this guitar, love and hugs you’re amazing!
Haha yay!! 🤗 I'm so glad you're so excited and hope you'll continue learning more with me and this series! 🎸 Congrats on getting a guitar after thinking about it for so long and I hope you have fun on your journey! 💕
Nobody is appreciating that she is always smiling 😁 And My brother came in and said can you play that again for me? It's my first time playing guitar and it sounds so good!! For the people who is in the comments checking to see if she is a good teacher She is a very good teacher
RIGHT!!! THere was a guitar lying around in the house since I was 1 no one played it...... I picked it up changed the strings. tuned it and started learning it....her videos got me through it and I'm back here to help my cousin learn and go along my journey once again
hello! what is that triangle thingy called to play guitar with instead of using nails? I dont know how to use it nor how to use a nail so I need the name of it so I could find tutorials
I cannot believe i can play a G chord in under one lesson, thanks to her I can play the guitar now. Its been 3 months since i watched her first video and now I can gladly say I can play better than before, thanks to her.. She made whole video clarify and clear which something a beginner would understand pretty quickly.. 3 months has been passed I can now play hard songs than usually to the family chords.. I know you can do it too! Just trust the process and you'll be good.. Need some patience thats all.. Im already in a band which is also good news lol..
People leaving those comments saying how much they're struggling and how much their fingers hurt makes me feel better about myself and pushes me to keep going thanks y'all!
this is literally the best beginner guitar video ever made in youtube, i literally begged my parents to get me a guitar and now that i did i literally couldn't find a single helpful video until i found out about you. thank you so much for this, im so thankful to u
that is so sweet, thank you so much! 🥰 i'm glad you found my video helpful and congrats on getting a guitar! 🎸🎶 i hope the rest of my beginner series can get you started with your foundation so you can keep on rocking it!! 💕
I've had my guitar just sitting in a corner of my room for like 4 years and finally decided to start learning how to play it! This video helped alot, even if it is over 3 years old.
I last picked up my guitar 5 years ago when I was 9 and for the past two years I have been telling myself to try again but never got to it. Now I am learning from scratch again, and this video is so straight to the point and helpful, thank you! My smile was huge when I realised I got the hang of changing chords again
That's so awesome!! 🎉 Congrats on starting the journey again, and thank you for choosing my video to learn with! 🥰 I can't wait to hear how it's going by the end! 🙌
@@wissalkherbache4995 not to be funny or creepy but heres a little knowledge about 3AM. Its also known as the “witching hour” but it is also a sacred time amongst religious groups because not only do muslims pray during it but in Christianity, its also the time when good entities are battling negative entities (demons). Its a time when your spiritual self and physical form at at its most aligned- explains why you’d want to learn guitar or anything creative during that time :) your soul wants you to learn a little :)
I almost wanted to cry because I have been playing guitar for a few weeks it was my dads guitar he passed three years ago and he was a natural he could pick up any instrument and play it. He never had to look up how to play it just could pick up a harmonica mess with it for a few minutes and play all kinds of tunes or songs. He played violin with very few lessons from his uncle picked up guitar and learned himself by listening to music and just hearing the notes and tunes and so if he heard a song he could pick out the chords and play in just a few minutes it was unbelievable played drums self taught with no help just could hear the music and what sounded good. So I’ve been trying to play and be like him but I just didn’t get that natural talent I have been studying the guitar everyday and I clicked on this video not expecting much at all just learning about the F chord and feeling doomed but I smiled so big when I started to sing along with you. So simple but so great thank you so much I haven’t been able to find a video like this you are a saint to people who almost want to give up trying.
aww, i know that's a very frustrating problem! 🙈 make sure you're using the tips of your fingers when you place them on the strings, and curve your fingers so they're at an angle instead of flat. that should help reduce accidentally touching other strings and make for a clearer strum. 🎸🎶 i'll be covering this in episode 3 so hopefully you can check it out once it's posted! and thanks for watching! 🤗
@@for3v3rfaithful since I did the comment, i've been trying to improve and adjusting my fingers. Well, it still hurting a little bit, but it is so much better! I can play more clearly, but i was very upset back then and your answer helped a lot! Thank you very much! To anyone who reads, keep trying, it is frustrating sometimes, but gets better. I promise💕
I found your videos while looking for guitar advice for my daughter, Zoe. I just bought her a Baby Taylor (TS Edition) and I'm so excited to watch your videos with her while she learns how to play. You're manner is so kind and reassuring, I know this will be a space where Zoe is going to be comfortable and excited about playing without feeling defeated or frustrated. Thank you for this, I can't wait to update you on other videos when she's playing along with you.
Haha that’s so sweet, thanks Prisha!! 🥰 I’m trying to make this series fast-paced but still informative and hopefully fun so beginners will LOVE playing their guitars!! 🎸🎶💕
About four months ago I had the impulse to start playing guitar, so I looked up a bunch of RU-vid videos, not many were helpful but then I found this video. This video changed my life. To keep it short your wholesomeness made it so easy to follow along and because of that I am now performing and even singing in public spaces. I just wanted to say thank you for getting me started. Rock on people ❤️
Aww thank you so much for coming back to leave this sweet comment! 🥰 I'm so happy to hear this beginner series was helpful to you for getting started on guitar, and I'm really proud of you for how far you've come in such a short time! 💪 I hope you'll continue to build on your skills and showcase your talents for performing with your guitar well into the future. 🎸🎶🦋
You are so great at teaching and not overwhelming! Thank you so much my grandpa is dieing and has always wanted me to learn to play, he even built many guitars from scratch and gave me one. You have helped me put a smile on his face due to making it fun to learn and not discouraging. ❤ thank you
I smiled so hard when I realized that I was actually doing it, this was so helpful and actually motivating when you realized that you’re playing a real song :)))
Haha yay!! 🎉 I'm really glad you had fun and played through your first song! 🎸🎶 Thanks for watching and learning with me, and I hope you find the rest of the series just as helpful! 🦋
this is a totally normal feeling for beginners, especially if guitar is your first instrument ever! 🎸remember that it's okay to take as many breaks as you need! 🤗eventually, the skin on your fingertips will harden into what are called calluses, and it will protect you from the pain. 👍it can take a while to develop these, but the more practice time you put in, the faster this will happen. then - you'll be rocking in no time!! 💕
I just got my first guitar and I've been wanting to learn for years. I love how friendly and accessible your teaching style is! I feel like I've already learned a lot!!
Aww thanks so much for watching and for the sweet comment! 🥰 I try to make my videos as easy as I can, so I'm really glad you feel like you're already learning a bunch! 🙌 I hope you'll stay with me for my other episodes as well because we'll be diving deeper into more beginner topics and playing lots of popular songs along the way! 🎸💕
Hi, darlin. 🙋🏻♀️ Natalia here 😊 Always looking forward to connecting with other female acoustic musicians. Do you perform in live settings? I only ask because where I’m from there are less than a handful of female acoustic musicians that perform live!
I begged my parents to get me a guitar after seeing a show called Julie and the Phantoms and I finally got one for Christmas. This was one of the best and easiest beginner video I’ve seen in my 2 days of having this guitar!! Thank you so much ❤️❤️ Edit: Hey, a little update on my learning. I’m getting much much better as the days go on. I’m switching between chords faster and I’m learning how to read tabs. I wish you all luck.
Sameeee I want it from 3 months but at Christmas I didn't get it. And finally. My uncle buy it for me! A white guitar, and he Tuned my Guitar too. I wish he can teach me but he have work at my other shop -_-"
Aww, thanks so much for the sweet compliment! 🙌💕 I'm glad I could make transitioning chords easier for you and I hope you'll continue to learn with me for the rest of this series! 💪🎸🎶
I started this series in may and have worked my through the end. I recently came back to this video to make sure ive “mastered” everything. When i first started i didnt know what frets, chords, capos, tabs were. Almost 5 months later and this stuff seems so simple and i can believe i used to not know it.
YESSS i love reading your comment! 🥰 Doesn't it feel good to know how much you've improved in both skill and knowledge in just a few short months?? 🙌 I'm so proud of you and hope that confidence continues to grow as you learn more techniques and songs moving forward!! 🎉 Thanks so much for watching! 💕
hi I'm 13 and i play piano, flute, ukulele. and a little clarinet and i thought why not its quarantine and i might as well so, i just got a guitar 2 days ago and already know 2 notes thanks 2 u thank u so much i love u so much.
I'm sorry about your uncle passing, but I'm glad I could help you learn your first few chords on guitar. 🤗💕🎸 I'm sure he would be so proud to see you play! 🦋
Congrats on getting your first guitar!! 🎉 That's so exciting and I'm really grateful you're giving me and my beginner series a chance! 🤗 Good luck and hope to see you in the other episodes as well! 🎸
STAY HERE! I've finally had the courage to pick up the damn guitar my grandpa gave me so long ago, I've been really inspired by Han Jisung recently, so im deciding to start playing. This video is absolutely great!!!
Thank you so much. I’ve been singing and dancing all my life but never got to throw myself into guitar the way I wanted because I was continuously healing one trauma and then enduring another.. but I’ve finally found some time alone and decided to look it up on RU-vid and was so pleased to find you. I cried when I realized it was Poison.. thank you so much for the lesson and the happy tears!
Wow. Just wow. For the last 7 years I kept telling myself "one day". Finally the day has come. Super easy, concise and well delivered. Great video... 3 thumbs up👍👍👍
I’m 15 and i’ve had my guitar since i was about your age!!! The world can be a really cruel place when it comes to following your dreams. But i’d you believe that you can become a guitarist, I do too!! Good luck.❤️❤️
I'm 14 and my dad loves music he has loads of guitars and discs. I want to learn to play to be more like him and when I think I'm good enough maybe even play with him and this video seems very useful. Shows lots of stuff in just 10 minutes
Three days ago, my parents bought me my very first guitar, and been searching videos like yours: You're like the type of teacher that I've been wishing for, you make learning guitar so fun (at least in my opinion), I've been watching videos on how to play the guitar for beginners sort of stuff, and got bored easily since they all do is show how to play the chords and that's all, but with you, your videos are organised well and plus we learn to play a song too in addition! Others don't do that! I prefer to learn to play guitar while learning chords then put it on use instantly, playing songs. This channel is perfect 👌 IDK if I make sense, I rarely make comments but I will leave one here since I love it and wanted to express my gratitude, please don't stop making videos! Have a nice day 👍
Aww thank you so much for this sweet comment! 🤗 I'm really glad you like my video format - that was my goal! 😉 We'll be playing through more songs at the end of each episode, using the new skills we learn along the way! 🎸 So I hope you'll stick with me and thank you so much for watching. 💕
My name is Hallie and I’m learning the guitar so when I finished the video I was so excited to see I learned my first song I ran out to my living room and did it in front of my dad he was really proud!!! Thank you so much!
Aww yay!! 🎉 Congrats on learning something to show already and I'm so excited for your journey! 🎸 Your dad will surely be more proud of you with each episode. 😉💕
I smiled so much when she began to sing the different songs. It was an even bigger surprise that one of the songs I was playing was one of my favourites! This was really helpful, and I've always wanted to play guitar as a kid. Here I am learning :))
Aww yay! 🥰 I'm really glad one of the songs was your favorite and I'm super proud of you for following your dream of learning guitar! 🎸 I hope you'll join me for the other episodes as well and best of luck on this journey! 🦋
@@for3v3rfaithful Oh my god you replied!! Thank you so much! I'm definetly gonna keep watching your videos! :D It means *so* much for you to reply to my comment, really!
After finally being able to switch between the chords, I decided to finish the video and cried when I realized I was playing Every rose has it's thorns :(( that song means alot to me a xx
Yay!! So glad I could encourage you to try again and hope you'll keep learning with me in the rest of this series! 🙌🎸🎶 We'll be learning little by little and playing more songs at the end of each episode, so hopefully it'll stay fun for you! 🤗💕 Thanks for watching!
I have had a guitar from a few years ago but never actually understood how to play it, this actually helped me so much. I never thought I'd be able to play a song 😭😭💜
I think the best 4 chords to learn are G , Em, C , and D. Not too hard and not too difficult . Had a music teacher and we learned these 4 chords first. After you learn these it becomes much easier to learn everything else . Most songs are played using these chords so if yall want to start learning I recommend them
I’m finally retired, with a host of wonderful life experiences. As far back as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to learn how to play guitar. Yet, for whatever reason, I’ve made excuses/ found a reason not to do it. After watching your video, this seems simple, and thank you for sharing your wonderful gift. Many things I’ve done in life required repetitive training to get things correct, but like I learned as a Paratrooper- at some point you have to put on a parachute, get on the plane and jump. I just hope I can find a local instructor with your patience and exuberance.
I took about a day to completely understand this fully. Total beginner, I've only just got my first guitar but I'm flying 23 hours to see my long distance best friend/beloved next month and I'd really like to play something for her. I think you're probably the best chance I've got at this.
I totally think you can do it! 💪 A month should be long enough to memorize a few basic chord shapes, work on smooth transitioning, and even get a few strumming patterns under your belt! 🙌 As long as you're dedicated to some daily practice, I bet she'll absolutely be blown away! 🤗 Good luck, and thanks so much for watching and learning with me! 🎸🎶
This was actually really helpful for my first guitar lesson. I actually learnt how to play my first guitar song because of you. Thanks and keep crushing it!
This is the best tutorial I’ve ever seen, I already know basically everything she’s saying but something about her is so engaging and i love how this video was put together. I would’ve loved to have her as my guitar teacher when i was starting.
Couldnt put it in better words i know everything in this video but haven't played in years and must say this is a really great beginner guide or returning player guide
My classmate who never played guitar:- Playing Guitar is so easy, you just need to touch on the strings Me:- 😊💢**shows him my fingers** Edit:- thnx for likes~~
@@danmenza5752 Yea! But my friends do understand as I forced them to play my Guitar😏 Oh BTW please don't think I was cussing because I was showing him the marks of guitar strings in my fingers😅😁
❤❤ God 🙏 bless you Ellen my name is Jose may i respectfully say its such an honor for me to learn how to play guitar from a teacher as special as you are 🎉🎉
I'm a Christian who ❤ves to praise God 🙏 with music and at the same time if you allow me the honor of getting to know you. I truly hope you didn't think of me as being weird 🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤
I almost 68 years young and my children bought me a guitar. Always loved music and had to sell my piano when we moved house. So excited to learn to play guitar and just loved your first lesson. Long way to go but thank you for making it so much easier to understand. You are a star.
congratulations on finding the motivation to learn something new! 🎸🎶 i think your experience with piano will be an advantage when learning guitar, and i hope that these videos are able to help you! 🤗💕
i have been playing for 3yrs now and the random video popped out on my recommendations and even if i didn't need it, istill watched the entire thing, because this lady teaches really well and i wish i had her as my teacher when i was a beginner
My pinky finger HURTTTS 🤧 it keep being stiff and....yeah Edit: y’all I just got done with the 10 minutes and I can’t believe that I tuned my guitar and played a song on my first day like WHATT🥳 thank you so much you are a big help 🙌🏾
I've been struggling switching my fingers everytime I'm going to change chords. I've watched multiple videos and I couldn't get it right, but after clicking to this video, I finally got to play my first song. Thank you very much.
My tiny fingers could never;-; I think I press on the strings too hard cos now they're lines on my fingers. But I sure did play my first song! Tysm you're a great teacher
Im sick rn, and my guitar is away from me 3 months, since the first day i bought it, I’ve never played before, I’m watching now and taking notes, so I’ll be ready when im fully recovered. My reason why i wanna learn how to play guitar is my love to write songs , so having the guitar with me will make a songwriting very easy for me 🥰🥰🥰
Yesss congrats Daria!! 💕 Your pinky probably hurts the most because it's on the thinnest string and you're having to hold it down for a long time. Make sure to take little breaks and don't let it cut or blister you! 🙈 But you're definitely on your way, so thanks for watching and good luck! 🎸
I had my guitar since christmas 2022 and ive been learning for a week and a half now! I met my friend at subway i work at, she plays and she motivated me to play just because she played me a beautiful song.
My hand felt a little uncomfortable but this was actually a pretty good tutorial and it helped me a lot, my sister dad and brother play guitar and I only know the piano but I founded guitar very interesting and I actually think maybe I learn how to play it and make my own and put it into my own music.
that is actually why i started learning guitar as well! 🤗violin was my main instrument, but i wanted to play something i could sing along to and write songs with. 🎶i'm so glad you found my video helpful and i hope you'll join me for the rest of the series! 🎸 then maybe by the last episode, you'll have your own song to share! 💕
@@for3v3rfaithful thanks also ever since I found your video I actually learned so much not really because I’m still learning but your videos are the only ones I actually found very helpful and even my siblings who doesn’t even have time to teach me said I should continue watching your videos because my sister said she also learned guitar from you like years ago✨💕
This was awesome! I have been trying to learn guitar via RU-vid for a few years now and this was by far the easiest tutorial. I really appreciate you adding the song in the end so it makes us feel like the little we did learn was HUGE because now we can say we know how to play part of a song! So glad i found your page please keep posted these are so helpful 🤗
Aww thank you so much for the sweet comment!! 🥰 I'm so glad you enjoyed my video format and hope you'll keep learning with me for the rest of the series! 🙌 We'll be playing songs at the end of each episode, so hopefully it helps boost your confidence and keeps you motivated to keep going! 💪 Thanks for watching! 🦋💕
