Mike's Boogie is extremely tasty. Would love a quick tutorial on that one. I can see the chords but to find that groove is tough. Then again Lemmo may not be human
Wow!all the fantastic features on these old super 400's are amazing! Ebony board, imperial grover's,super 400 inlays, maple top sides and back, beautiful pickgaurd, simply fantastic!
What a spectacular sound , those big bodies really project and have such great tone , brilliant highs and resonant lows , very cool. As always Lemmo is killing it , great boogie number and I really liked the first song , what a great talent and a super guitar , looks cool too. thanks guys.
What an incredible guitar, Mike Lemmo doing it all the justice n'all. I can't wait for all these podcasts - that's the kind of thing I could watch for hours and hours.
What a beautiful guitar and Michael makes it speak like an angel! Also, I wish you guys would share the love once in a while with a like or love response to posts. LOL
I love Arch tops. After plastic white LP copy i was given a Sears Wing Ding arch top, cut away, ts, all plastic. I was 7 . Later learned Macaferri buillt these. One model was a gift from Page to Beck. so, yes, i dig Arch tops.. esp depression era. wow.
I'm still waiting to see you guys show that Gibson Hummingbird acoustic I saw when you showed the big take that Norm went and got about 3 months ago. It looked like a beauty.
And this, gentlemen, is how to pick up one of the most desirable guitars ever made, get the sound and really play it. Just like it should be. From the first chord. Michael you done real good, this guitar and your playing brought tears to my eyes.
So much better than the last Host, I never skip your videos, keep up the Great Work!!! I keep looking for a Vox tear drop 9 string, I had one, wish I never sold it, I’ve never seen another one
Can honestly say that I'm really looking forward to these new podcasts!! As a follower of GOTD for a couple years now I think it will be really fun and fascinating to get a lot more in depth with the players, staff, builders and whomever else happens along!! Plus this is a gorgeous guitar and I found myself getting lulled into the music from Radiohead to Michael's Boogie!! Just a really interesting guitar, Thanks, Norm!! Now, I think one of the first podcasts should be on Jen and the development of her style at Norm's. What do you say, Jen??
I just saw a Super 400 in a vintage soundie 2 days ago, then had to go study up on them. Now this! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Such a fine arch-top.. among the best in the world. In 1936 these were priced at $400, which is inflation corrected to about $8,300 in todays dollars. Expect this to be expensive, as this one IS among the finest examples existing of the 96 total made.
What a great sound! I would love to hear bluegrass flatpicking played on this guitar. It would be able to cut like the mandolin and balance with an upright so much better than a flat top.
I do believe that the Neck width from Nut to body remains the same on the Super 400's. Did you mention the Ebony Fretboard with the Parallelogram inlay's? Love you Guy's........🎸💚
On your podcast a list of guitarists you need to have is Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Slash, Joe Walsh, Pete Townsend and there are so many more possibilities.
Two of my favorite songs on one of the most beautiful instruments I ever done seen wow. Plus I just bought a Gibson acoustic so I’m a little biased haha
Norm I have a 62 or 63 Gibson that my Grandpa bough new. It needs some work but would like to send you some pictures to see what you think. Maybe help me fix or sell. Thanks
Weird Wednesday idea: Fender Starcaster... an Offset body jazz guitar with a bolt on neck and Wide Range Humbuckers. Didn’t sell well to jazz guitarists (again), but found it’s way into rock (I saw Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cuite playing one live on stage about 10 years ago.)
