It would be interesting to see the guitars in a "lineup" sometime.. with Mark providing descriptions of them.. from the earliest models through to the later years and how they have evolved over time. I always enjoyed playing the the thin neck/wide nut Juniors with the extra frets.
Snuffy Grunt this would be cool but probably hard to do because I feel like they sell guitars too quickly to get enough examples in the same place at one time
That’s awesome! It shows the inconsistency of 70’s Fenders. I have a ‘74 Strat in natural blond finish. It’s about 7.5 lbs. I also have a ‘77 Strat that is almost 9 lbs. Both sound great, but I prefer the ‘74. Enjoy the vintage vibe. You now have the vintage guitar fever!
Sweet guitar. I love juniors and special Ive got a 1960 Lp special and a 59. Both are killer guitars. P90s are awesome .my 59 has big neck exellent 60 has blade but it feels good. Beautiful guitar that 1960 is. Nice choice for thumper Thu 😊
This is honestly one of my favorite styles of Gibson’s. I had a 2002 model like his I stupidly traded off. I have a 1982 USA made Epiphone Spirit right now that is awesome!
They put out a pretty cool one last year, you should look it up if you like this guitar, it was basically this in TV yellow with a tortoise guard. Of course they discontinued it for 2019, but it's probably possible to still find a few unsold new ones.
@@AntmanFelix I feel ya, that one definitely was more of a "tribute" than a repro. Fingers crossed Gibson will give us one like this that isn't a $4000 custom shop model soon!
Thank Mark ✌️ and Jen 🌷 someone who I don’t know found out I was wanting a custom LP, should have it next week. Either for a late Christmas gift or an early March Birthday present 🎸
Hey Mark 2019 FYI when you don't do a Bass on Thumping Thursday sometimes it upsets Carlos so much that he gets in the comment section and starts fighting people .. couple weeks ago I almost got my ass all CAPPED and it ain't no picnic.. do what you can for us this year brother😁😁😁
The Les Paul Special did become the SG Special - 2 P-90's, bound neck, dot inlays but no crown on the head piece, just the GIbson scroll on top, and an SG body. The SG Specials they market as such today are nothing like these beauties from The 60's. P-90's rule.
I have 2 things to say 1:What happened to the giveaway? 2: You did this EXACT guitar EXACTLY 1 year 1 day ago!!! Not only that but your guests used this guitar at least once in another video. So this is the third time this guitar's been shown.
Oh and it’s very doubtful anything this clean/ in-demand would hang around for a month, much less a year. BUT - it could have easily sold a year ago but have come back in on trade, or have been traded and wound up at a show or a collection where Norm was on the hunt - So this could be the exact same guitar. Entirely feasible.
Ok I went back and looked. It does look. very similar but the fade pattern around the bridge is slightly different . And it was in a different case. That means nothing bc vintage cases are also hot sellers. It could have been sold separately. What was the same is Mark’s leather jacket and zippers LOL.
What a great show. Changed my thought process. That's always good. I'm scared to ask how you can play covers without being "stricken" from the list of Mr RU-vid! So I do not.
I really like the specials , I mean I luv my Jr. so why wouldn't I luv the special , overheat those P90's and they just rock , this one sounded a little funny in the midrange areas but maybe just a little out of tune , still a great set as always Mark. Back in the saddle again , 2019 is shaping up nicely.
Tele guy was gonna start jammin then Mark sat down, looked at him and said " It's not #TeleTuesday bitch! " then proceeded with this sweet ass Jr. Haha
When you don,t play a bass on thumping Thursday you MUST play ONLY the 4 low strings...or break into Norms warehouse and get a 1958 P Bass you have on the web site. Do not short the very heart of any band you guitar snobs
