I have never so much as held an electric guitar in my hands, but a week and a half of watching this and Im hooked. I am starting to think Thumpin Thursday is a myth!
Bloody hell fire! How many ES's is there in that shop? Why not change the name of the show to Norms ES of the day!! "Bring back weird ass Wednesday & thumping Thursday"!!.
I'd like to hear the guitar played in a varying range of volumes. They can actually play very clean & sweet sounding.. and a guy that can bring that out of the instrument is a real musician.
Guitar ocd - I've got a partner that plays one of these. He throttles back.. and at just the right place.. his blues licks will make you cry like a baby. Myself.. I'm too ate up with arthritis.. and I was never any good anyway. Not even in my prime, but, ya.. I suppose these old classics are more like "acquisitions" or "investments" than they are players. Kind of like old Harleys. Fuck that. I ride 'em .. and I wreck 'em .. That's what I'd probably do with an instrument like that. Hell .. you can't take it with you. Well .. I suppose you COULD.. have yourself buried with it.. cremated or something. Thrown into a wood chipper.. so your rotten flesh and blood vapor could mingle the saw dust..
Wow , what is it about the PAF's that sound so much better than the patent numbers , you'd think it's the same pick up but it's clearly different. Anyway a gorgeous guitar , clearly a rock n roll machine , Eric Clapton , Peter Green , Joe Perry , that's about as RNR as it gets Chad. Great set Mark , well done , ya a tad better than thumpin Thursday , long live GOTD.
I was thinking - Thumping Thursday content is too good to be free, it should be a Patreon exclusive. In its place, Thursday's could be dedicated to more six string and twelve strings

You know there are a lot of people who do play bass and would like one day where you do a Bass. I get that Precision and Jazz Basses get old but so do Hollowbody Gibsons. There great guitars but you've done tons of the 330s and 335s. Why not a Bass one day a week?

Feel like this guitar wants a fender deluxe or maybe a brown face... Could also be good through an Era apprpriate Marshall or Vox. The tweed you have it on sounds good but I feel like it could use just a little more...
I always enjoy the basses on thumpin thursdays. But yeah, that ES 335 was better. I've wanted one for a long time. Still not close to getting one. Some day!
