Thank you for the video, I'm a self-learner and this helps a lot! I have a problem I've been dealing with for a long time so I wanna ask for help. I'm stuck with my picking hand on rhythm, always doing the same thing naturally, without thinking about it. I'm always thinking about a rhythmic pattern in my head to follow a beat (like a bar of 4) and when I try to get out of the loop, I'm either not tght or of tempo. When I'm playing with other people I can get on track easy enough but when I'm alone I just lose focus and rhythm. Is it just that I should learn a shit ton of rhythm or is it something else? Thank you.
This works for crossing strings as well. There's more precision and care needed to get good at string crossing, but the techniques are not separate. I'm still trying to figure out if I should do a string crossing lesson in light of how much work Troy Grady has done on the subject. You should definitely check out his channel. He sells access to content, but there is still a lot of free stuff available. Check out this playlist of his: ru-vid.com/group/PLQXEjMNYjt2xBu99q1O9SVN4Eq0mDv50C
Can you make a video about how to sound smooth on guitar? I was recording myself playing and god it sounded awful. It got me a little embarrassed bec ause I couldn't stop thinking "is this what others hear?"
When you say "smooth" are you talking about your gear or your playing? They are connected, obviously, but I'm trying to figure our if this is essentially a "tone" question or a "how well am I playing" question.
