Lovebites are one of the best bands I have listened in nowdays. I would like to indicade other japanese band that I like too, the band are Yousei Teikoku and the song is Astral Dogma. Hope you enjoy it.

Midori (left) and Miyako (right) are freaking awesome. But look how Miho absolutely rocks the bass. Haruna is an excellent drummer filled with stamina and precision. Asami hits those high notes. For such a petite girl she has a big voice. As I have gotten older and I am old, my mind still loves to be wrapped around those complex guitar parts. A lot of people mellow with age and that's okay.

Saw them at Download 2019. Had never heard them before and fell in love after getting my face melted by those guitars

I appreciate what these ladies are doing. How many bands formed after 2000 are doing this kind of music, with this level of skills, with this amount of devotion? Gotta watch their latest concert BlueRay/DVD Five of a Kind. Such great musicianship! Their instrumental playing maintains at nearly perfect precision throughout the entire concert.

I know that as a guitarist yourself you favour that instrument, but I'd like to give a big shout out to Haruna. Without those drums propelling the song forwards it just wouldn't sound the same !

the left guitarist with the purple esp is the fiery flamboyant flashy MIDORI TATEMATSU and you are in the growing legion of fans of which she is their future wife ! me included. don't try to call dibs as i found her 4 years ago ! dream on ! this band takes no breaks as 99% of the songs are like this and even more frenetic. thank drummer haruna yosai [all 4ft.9" of her] for her non stop pounding on the skins to keep the freight train rolling. bassist miho rosana is top notch and singer asami is amazing and let us not forget the other guitarist miyako watanabe .they give credit to iron maiden as one their major influences and have a song called 'the crusade' that is an 'aces high' tribute. also one of their best songs is 'scream for me' another tribute to bruce dickinson and the live of that is jaw dropping. don't miss it

Unlike most Japanese bands, a lot of their songs are done solely in English. This makes for greater success in markets outside of Japan. They have a huge fan base in Europe.

Interesting your brother picked up an Iron Maiden aspect--these girls literally studied all the old metal bands--Metallica, Maiden, Priest, Slayer, all the way back to Purple and Sabbath--it's actually how the two guitarists learned to play. But play Iron Maiden back-to-back with Lovebites and you'll realize Lovebites have taken it to another level. I say that as a fan of all those foundational groups. Progress does not wait!

Would love to see the guitar jam, keep on it! But even tho I’m old, you can never turn down dessert. As for Maiden, who I remember from when Bruce then Nicko joined (82-83), there’s before and after. Sure Judas Priest, scorpions, wishbone Ash etc, all existed before, But even tho these girls idolize Ritchie Blackmore and Gary Moore, no one says “dude, they sound like thin lizzy!” The sound and performances on this dvd are nearly flawless, any song, can’t go wrong, from Chopin to Skolnick. Yeah guys they've got a good musicianship and relationship. The both songs you mention are from the last album Electric pentagram from this year, which is nominated for one of the best metal albums for 2020 . You want to see guitar dwelling just check the song We the United, and Signs of deliverance, also Rise some hell,Dancing with the devil, Swan song,,and not in the last place the open show song Thunder vengeance. Enjoy it.

I have loved dual guitar leads for years... Eagles on Hotel California... Thin Lizzy had two lead guitarists... Alice Cooper on his solo albums starting with Welcome to My Nightmare... and many others... It really does come down to a person's preference I think... =D ... going back again - Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd are two more of the older bands that rocked two leads

This brings back to the 80s Helloween song dual guitar synchronize, Yeah!

This group is (Iron Maiden/Judas Priest) mixed with Dragon Force influenced (they toured with Dragon Force at one point), so yeah this is 80's metal with a bluesy vocalist in Asami over the madness all driven by that 4' 8" dynamo drummer Haruna who I swear is a android as she never looks like she is even trying hard to do what she does!!!

I think it's "guitar nerdiness" if the solos and guitar stuff isn't well fit to the music. I mean I hate some things Vai does because it's self serving wankery for it's own sake, some stuff from Yngwie is that as well etc. but when it "just works" and "fits" and advances the song and gives something "more" to it, then it's just wonderful. Those solos were clearly composed and thought out, not something they pulled off from top of their head or improvised in studio while recording... and composed solo is way, way different from just basic self serving wankery. Especially when it fits the song and just "lifts it up higher" as these solos did :)

In Japan, only cute young groups can appear on TV, so full-fledged rock bands are having a very hard time. The only way to save them is to buy their CDs and DVDs.

Definitely on your brother's side in this man. I respect the made talent/skill... but shredding for the sake of, IMO gets old. Totally respect LoveBites, but despite all the talent, I've heard the basic sound 100x from tons of shreddy P/Metal bands. Where they my intro into the style, I'd probably be more gaga, like their fans are. But I'd been hearing this for 20 yrs before I ever heard Love Bites, so... it doesn't floor me. (also P/Metal, especially noodly shit like Gus G, Firewind, DragonForce, etc.... doesn't really tickle my elmo like it did 25/30 yrs ago. Gimme more melodic.. like Maiden) Great video though man
