That’s not true. He can improvise “rhythmically” on the spot, although much of the Compas is trained in patterns that are utilized in the moment In different combinations at the player’s discretion. The falsetas that he plays are completely trained and mastered before in the particular Palo that they are playing whether it is Bulerias, seguiriyas, solea, tangos, etc. and most are specific to the key that you are playing the palo in, due to specific voicings of chords that give them their flamenco essence. “Improvising” such a piece on the spot is literally impossible and could be compared to improvising something as complex and Beethoven’s 9th symphony on the spot, which even geniuses can’t do. Some flamenco players can improvising a bit while playing a solo rumba or tangos piece, which is in a simpler time signature of 4/4, but even the greatest flamenco genius of all time Paco de Lucía would play 95% pre-practiced falsetas in such palos, and especially in such a tough time signature as bulerias or any of the other 12 beat palos. It is impossible to improvise such playing on the spot. Take it from someone who studies flamenco guitar with one of Paco’s own students.
The guitarist has plenty of latitude to improvise rhythmically, but the falsetas (musical segments) are practiced pieces of music, which the guitarist selects at will. There is nothing spontaneous about the falsetas, other than which one the musician choses to insert at any given time. There is a very strict rhythmic count that must be observed ( known as "compas") and all participants must adhere to this 'count', without deviations. In this particular form of flamenco, known as a Buleria, the rhythmic count is 12, typically with accents on beats 3, 6, 8, 10 and 12. If the piece is not in 'compas', in accordance with the established rules, it is NOT flamenco. Some genres such as Alegrias, Soleares, Siguirillas in addition to the Bulerias, etc., have 'compas' rules that must be adhered to. It is said to be the magic of flamenco.
There are two things to say about this video : first is how good the guitar player is ! Very impressive, he's mastered the guitar completly, he can play anything he wants, he must have worked very hard for many years to achieve that ! Well done there ! And the second thing is how bad the guitar player is ! For me it's not music, it's more "noise" than anything else ! I couldn't feel anything during the whole video ! This is not art, it's feat of technics, it sounds more like a computer algorithm that has been very well programed ! Not a shred of feeling is conveyed whatsoever ! Mister the guitar player, you're a real master, through and through, you can do with your instrument what very few people can, but wouln't it be a good plan to start doing something with it like for example "playing music" ?
Daniel tiende a ser muy repetitivo por Bulerías y sus notas son muy distorsionadas. Hoy en día ya No se ven Bulerías como la del Niño Miguel o Paco de Lucía. Eso si era un Desgaste Brutal !!
Mientras los gitanicos desean cantar y ser un grande como camarón , los payos desean ser paco de lucia . El cante son de los gitanos , pero la guitarra de los payos . A mí no me vale un guitarrista gitano con un cantaor gitano para que sea 100 por ciento gitano . Tomatito cometió el error en creerse mejor que paco. Y decirle a camarón para que se diga el que flamenco es gitano y todo el mundo vea al flamenco como de los gitanos. Tomatito nunca llegó ni llegará al maestro Paco de Lucia.
