Actually pragg is one of the indian GOAT , the reason why players like Nepo Carlsen Fabi all favours pragg over gukesh is simple its because, pragg not only calculates but also plays intuitively however gukesh most of the times use calculation which he is definitely good at but that won't be good for him in lesser time control like blitz or rapid , also even if gukesh becomes 2800 and WC he still won't be able to remain there for long because performing deep calculation will become difficult for him as he ages, (of course it is on the precondition that gukesh decides to stick to his calculation solely which should not be the case i hope)

It's just the media hype which Indian media does on a regular basis. Hypes one player as goat but if you follow chess closely you see some other goat Indian players like gukesh, Arjun.

Richard rapport for example in the candidates tournament for the 2023 hardly does as much opening prep and it really is a wildcard move. His games arent easy to prep against but damn does it require him to think more and burn the clock sometimes.

Fun Fact: Gukesh as well as Pragyananda & many others are all from the SAME SCHOOL. The reason they’re so good is because years ago, the faculty got Vishwanath Anand to come to their school & teach these kids. Later, the school paid each of these student’s competition expenses & pushed them to compete further. . Gukesh was even gifted a Benz car recently! The school is looking to expand & start its branches across Indian cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad etc.
