Can’t wait until you all come to Pasadena CA I’m a huge fan of the Sonic Boom 💥 ever since they March down Hollywood Blvd for the big Motown Celebration. That was many years ago. So glad you all are returning for the Rose 🌹 Parade and Bandfest. I can’t wait.
I have been a fan for at least 9 years now. I am so glad to see the ladies step and dance and not look sexualized. They always look professional and always seem to enjoy what they are doing. keep up the great work!! It's fun to see the little girls on the parade routes excited to see y'all coming.
I still don’t understand why they don’t march at a 90 degree angle! It looks so professional as a band! It’s like they’re. Walking! They did at the beginning of band camp! We did it also when I was the boom in the 80’s! We didn’t have a female drum major period! We didn’t have a female drummer also! It wasn’t happening captain! Please donate Alumni to help them some new percussion instruments also! They sound like trash cans close up!
Someone said they are experimenting (?) with some different drum heads but I must agree I am not a fan and I wish they would go back to the traditional ones for the entire drum section!
I still don’t understand why they don’t march at a 90 degree angle! It looks so professional as a band! It’s like they’re. Walking! They did at the beginning of band camp! We did it also when I was the boom in the 80’s! We didn’t have a female drum major period! We didn’t have a female drummer either! It wasn’t going to happen period! Young lady on the z’s keep messing up! She needs to go back home!
I’m doubt you were ever in the Boom talking line this, lol! I’m from the 90’s Boom….you time and mine and done. Let these kids write their own legacy. And yall never marched 90 degrees all the time in the 80’s…..I saw y’all live, lol! The memory is always greater than the reality.
Man, stop tearing down a program that you “claim” to have marched in! Like how is that even helping uplift the current members?! I marched in the Boom in the early 2000’s and even in the best shape of my life, marching 90’s continuously is damn near impossible so please stop that train my brother. And what’s so bad about a female being a drum major or a female percussionist? I bet you listen to Sheila E and have no issues with her don’t you lol. I take it that you don’t know the true meaning of LOVE THE BOOM either by the way that you speak of them. Don’t belittle the program and the current members in it, especially on a social platform like this, just because you see something that you disagree with my guy. This ain’t the place for it. My child is currently in the BOOM and he and the rest of the members expect hate to come from outsiders, not from within the ranks of past members. CHECK YASELF!
The only thing I find could bring more class is the Jsetter to have more outfits to cover the young ladies upper bodies they're not dancers of any strip clubs they're young ladies of one of the best HBCU marching band very good marching band the best but only need jsetter with cover ups thank them they're Not out dancing like some of the other HBCU girls looking like stripper in a club what happened to having class
I was females drum major/ majorettes) we were called oh my back in the late sixties early seventies, of course the majorettes had to twirl batons, if you couldn't be a twirlers & dance , & step you didn't make the marching band I enjoy watching my JSU Sonic Boom, & drum majors I was one I look at pictures of back in the day I go whew ,we lead the way for young people today. Only thing sure wish young ladies bodies were covered up more Don't have them looking like strippers , but majorettes dancers for A marching Band I'm glad to see JSU doesn't have them dancing like strippers, what's happened to young Black Ladies having class . We have class pride in the way we dress. But at thank GOD they're dancing like well embarrassing to see how so many of the HBCU dancers dance like in a club sad sad. 😮😢
