I was filming my friends fishing on a boat with my Mavic 2 Drone, (Not the Mavic Mini) when this crazy gull wanted to fight with my drone, so I got out of there quick! It was funny to see this seagull chasing my drone. It was like the gull wanted to race with my drone as I made my escape. A bird strike wouldn't be good for anyone!
These drones have obstacle avoidance and the gull swooped in from above causing the drone to stop in space. I had to switch to the sport mode to regain complete control and get away. I chose to fly backwards to maintain sight of the attacker at all times preventing injury to bird or machine.
No drones or gulls were hurt in the making of this video. This drone has a pretty long range, so I was able to get back easily. If it was a mavic mini, or a mavic air, or a spark, or even some of the phantom drones, I may not have been so lucky.
