I always liked goofy cheap doodads like these. I did find and obtain a small set of the jumping bean toys I mentioned on a previous video.

I'm not exactly sure why I'm interested in this stuff, I think it was fun for me as a kid in the 60's. Of all the junk I lost through the years I managed to hang on to some of these tiny Hong Kong toys from gum machines. I've been wondering what was sold at penny arcades in the past and the history of this stuff. I enjoy your videos a lot.

I’m glad you enjoyed them! That’s the purpose of the channel. Not just to introduce people to new stuff but sort of bond with people who appreciate some of the more obscure items. I too was obsessed with vending machine toys as a youngin. I was a somewhat strange kid (perfectly normal now 😂😜). With these toys there’s an element of mystery and challenge to them. Unlike other toys which we knew the whole line, these capsule toys came from some unknown universe or source and anything was possible. I would add that we were both probably fairly highly intelligent early on or at least very curious, if that makes sense.

@@CollectorChronicles Yea, I guess I was a little odd as a kid too. I was a big fan of monster models, monster movies, and Ed Roth stuff. I think you framed yourself as I would, I consider myself a rational and sensible person now, ha ha - woo-wee-e-e! I like what you said about them being from another world and I guess for us it transported us there, to wherever that was (again "woo-weee"). Some these things were almost like an oddball artform. Thanks for the reply!

@@luvhatpunk9453 Ok, cool! I grew up in the 80s but exposure to my uncle’s old toys got me interested in vintage stuff. My interest coincided with the surge in collecting 60s toys in the early 90s. I was like 11 or 12 and had a number of toy price guides I pretty much memorized. The Aurora monster kits always looked cool. In particular I wanted the torture dungeon. I think that one didn’t go over too good with Moms of America or whoever. 💀😂😂😂

@@CollectorChronicles Oh yea, I remember that one...never had it and I'm sure I would have been prevented from having it. I did have Frankenstein's Flivver (Frankenstein in a hot rod) and a number of other Aurora models and Hawk's Weirdo's as well. I did want to say that I started collecting some of this stuff again in 2005, especially the gum machine toys that I always saw in header cards but couldn't get. Thanks for the reply!
