Demo ranch say that lynx .50 cal isn't all its cracked up to be. And the recoil is any better than a Barret. I can't remember which model he called out. What do you think?
The Lynx does have an adjustable brake to adjust for ammo. Because it's a long stroke action it needs a certain amount of recoil to operate, but you can fine tune it to get it as low as possible. Another issue is that the barrel spring is prone to damage and if damaged it will recoil harder; this is caused by leaving it stored with the barrel compressed, which I could see someone doing - it looks cooler and takes up less space. The lynx will be inherently less accurate than the Barrett or Serbu, but it's designed to be an antimaterial rifle, not a sniper rifle. While we got one really nice 1moa group at 100 yards, I wouldn't expect that to hold out to any distance as there is too much play in the barrel. And you can make the complaint that the capacity is half of the Barrett. In my opinion, having shot several 50's, it is by far the most shootable one, especially from the shoulder and when on the move. This is due to the far greater balance from being a bullpup design - it still weighs 25# like a Barrett, but with the weight centred over the pistol grip it's way easier to handle and support. That's what it was designed for. If you put it side by side on a bench I wouldn't expect it to be much better than a Barrett. I do personally like the recoil impulse a lot though. It's a long push not an abrupt punch. I know my spring is good though.
