For everyone reading these comments I have always said Itay is THE MAN. My training lineage is traced back to Itay. What people fail to understand, especially those who lack real world experience, there is ALWAYS a reaction on the other side. When training and developing a combat system to save lives, those real world reactions have to be taken into consideration when developing a response that increases your odds of survival (I said increases your odds, doesn't guarantee them - life is hard sometimes). And then of course more importantly than the physical "steps" is the mental development, drills and pressure testing help develop the mindset/aggression. You cant go into a fight for your life at anything less than 1000%. Itay Gil in my opinion is a HUGE contributing factor to effective modern day combatives. If you have an opportunity to train with him or anyone developed by him - DO IT. It'll increase your odds of survival significantly.
Congratulations! Thank you!!, This is one of the few videos out there that teach realistic gun defense! I would love to see one on defense against knife attacks!
Very good video, sensible thinking which accounts for natural reactions and risks. A video like this for knife defense would be awesome. Also more footage of simulations since that is so so important to see. Cheers

Itay will show you unique techniques you have not seen and known. In was changes a build on the basis of events and tested with fx simunition under aggressive Krav Maga scenarios . This the difference between a high-risk operational world and the world of sterile, safe mat gym. Our Tactical gear review channel - ru-vid.com
Everyone thinks that after they learn a few punches and kicks and chokes, that they will be able to protect themselves. I had a Russian guy in his 40s tell me a story about mugging he experienced in Moscow back in the day. He said if it wasn't for his kick boxing training, he would have died. He broke his knuckles and something else (it's been years since I heard that story). It was in the snow too, he was coming home from a long day at work, exhausted, not in the mood. He told me, that if you want to learn self defense, you need to get hit, thrown, bloody, exhausted beyond belief. Because people who want to hurt you will do it as much as they want. You don't know if the guy your being chased by is a serial killer or rapist or ex con. But don't expect everything to be like it is in the movies. Guns are a literal nightmare. Most likely, unless you train every sing day under pressure. You're going to either A: get shot, die, suffer permanent damage, or have a fucked up time in the hospital, and hopefully not have PTSD. Or B: you succeed and hopefully not got to prison for 20 years because you accidentally killed someone or seriously injured someone to handicap (head injuries do occur on concrete). In the military, you are there to get the job done, however they need you to handle the situation. It's not like the street. On the field, you have guns, partners, armor, gear, etc. If you are using hand to hand, you fucked up, or you're in a really tight situation, which is pretty rare from what I understand. But, krav maga is a tool, and can be used. But like a fire extinguisher, as a last resort. If you live in a fucked up area, move as soon as possible. Ignore stupid people and their egos. If you can, go out with friends and family at night. Go to bed earlier, etc. Self defense is for the worst days. The military train for hours and hours every day and even then, things go wrong. You are not immortal with defense skills. If you know how to use a fire arm or anything less than lethal, you reduce your chances of death by like 70 percent depending on the situation. Anyways. That's my two cents.
I agree about 70%. Because there are not that much places in the world where a regular civilian can have a firearm. In the most places civilians can only learn self defense skills or use a pepper spray at most. So I thing it depend on the country and state
@@kravmagaidftraining7428 I agree with that. But if you do have a weapon and know how to use it properly you're chances of survival are much higher. But hand to hand should be the last line of defense. De-escalating and situational awareness should be the first.
Good stuff and Itay is one of the best I have a question regarding technique 2. What about people behind you when doing the disarm? Looks to me that he will get at least 1 shot off? Is the gun being pointed to the ground slightly, It's hard to see?
Thank you for this master class. A true eye opener for both civilians and professionals. Can I use this video for educational purposes? I will refer everything back to your work.
So the first and second defenses that are shown are they just two different options for a similar scenario or are there different times to use one or the other. My second question is the first defense where you grab the wrist and drive forward, could you do an underhook on the wrist instead of grabbing and do the defense that way?
Looks great, but I have 3 problems: 1. Going with your head towards the gun is against instinct of self preservation 2. OK, you disarmed him, why to deliver him the gun back by striking him with it? 3. Why to cock the gun? What if there was the last bullet? What if you have malfunction? Why not to shoot his leg immidiately?
hey, 1. Not exactly 2. How you actually delivering him the gun? Striking with a piece of metal(gun) and smushing his face so he can't fight back to nutrelizehim is not delivering a gun. A gun is a piece of metal wich will make more(max) damage to the attacker in a short pireod of time. It is much harder and safer than striking with your knuckles or legs. 3. Well, if you ask this question than you never done shooting i assume. The gun will be jamed after the disarm(while you hold the gun the shell won't get out after the gun fired so it will jamed and you will have to operate it). What if there was the last bullet? well then you have a bad day. What if you have malfunction? answered this one before. Why not to shoot his leg immidiately? Not legal in the most countries! Actually more than 3 questions :)
Well this is because we didn't turn off the A/C so I had to make noise reduction... Sorry for that mistake . But you are welcome to support as on patreon or by sharing this video so we could buy better sound and video equipment and make better videos. Thanks :)
