When you are shooting weapons in gta 4 you can feel the force a lot more

The reload animations really improved in GTA V, not to mention the physical empty magazine that gets dropped

Niko has to put one weapon away to take out the next, Michael just conjures new guns out of the weapon he already has out.

There's a problem with the video because GTA V has different sounds when the camera is detached from the player, so it only works properly when in first person or third person, not in freecam

What also makes the guns in GTA IV better is that they are modelled after actual guns.

an equal number of wins from 4 and 5. but both sound & look ,miles better than San An! The improvement from San An to 4 is simply remarkable. 4 & 5 take turns besting each other..in weapons effects and many other things, ofc.

The animations are better on V, but the sounds are more satisfying and louder in IV

I don't like either, tbh. IV sounds compressed and V sounds quiet. The only one with a clear winner, in my eyes, is IV's sawed-off. I think it sounds decent. But sound design has come a long way since the PS3/360 era, so I'm excited to see what future games present.

Kinda weird that GTA V has 2 different sound for yourself and NPC. In this video, it shows NPC sound that also shows it's true stats and rate of fire. It's also the case for other game like CoD and R6S, perhaps for better hearing ?

For me GTA 4 still the king and its hard choice but gta 4 still have that feeling and atmosphere

I love the sound of the RPG in GTA IV but the pistol sounds horrible. Imo overall the sound are better in GTA V

Small Correction: Niko is not supposed to hold the Micro UZI like that, he is supposed to hold it like the GLOCK however there is a bug on PC that uses the SMG Animation instead of the GLOCK Animation.

when shooting guns in games I prefer the sound as POWERFUL. like loud sound that actually rings ears. or maybe not even ''loud'' but good sounding and not very low toned like most of gta v guns

Gta 5 weapons all sounds a little the same, and when shooting it feels like almost all weapons are pea shooters as there is no oompf behind them, they actually do a lot of damage though but still, in gta 4 tje weapons sound and feel like they have more impact and more oompf.

People are just saying 4 guns sound better because of bias. You can tell 5’s guns sound better because they actually sound like believable guns, better overall sound design. The way the gun echo disperses sound more realistic, like you’re actually shooting outside. 4’s is too loud in a way like you’re shooting indoors all the time, very compressed and they have a weird distinct high pitch to them. 5 also has actual reloading animations.

I prefer GTA 4, I don't know if it's just me, but the sounds are satisfactory, especially the sound of the AK

IV is a better game by miles in my opinion. The gun sounds are much more vicious making you feel like an actual criminal in a life or death situation. One thing I will say, is that V has sweet reloading animations, and IV is lacking here massively. Not even dropping the Mag is kinda.. meh.

You should add the Sawn-off and the Street Sweeper in TLAD and the M249 in TBoGT as well.

You know you've compared V's Pump Shotgun to IV's Combat Shotgun and IV's Pump Shotgun to V's Sawed Off Shotgun.

4 has the more realistic sounds. 5 is just too Hollywood in my opinion lmaoo!

The rpg on 4 was insanely realistic in sound and the way the rocket cork screwed

the automatic hand pistol from TLAD makes too much noise, but it's probably the best weapon to piercing cops car wheels while beign chased.

GTA IV's AK-47 reload is abysmal LOL

GTA IV’s UZI, Pump, AK and Desert Eagle is superior but the anims and some other guns in GTA V are better. One thing I’ll say is that the sounds are too quiet in GTA V while GTA IV has loud and more impactful sounds but some don’t sound all that great now. Also I never noticed that the pistols in that game don’t slide back.

Here’s what I like about GTA 4s weapons. Shooting straight is possible but in GTA 5 it’s a lot more difficult. I find the bullet spread more better as even if I’m not getting as much accuracy, I’ve still got a chance to hit something. Bullet spread goes down a lot faster than in GTA 5 if you use short controlled bursts. Most of the weapons to me sound punchy and closer to actual gunfire noises. Most of the bullet casings are actually correct unlike in GTA 5 some are reused. Crouching helps a lot and extremely steadies aiming. Models overall are done nicely, although static like props there’s no proper reloading for all of them. Clips or magazines don’t drop out or get pulled out. Yet when crouching the full animation is showed for some.

I think the animation, small details, and sound are more accurate in GTA V the IV but look-wise IV is more authentic, and also the types used by streets. smuggled wooden AK and police stolen M4 are more common guns on streets than guns that you purchase on the range because they are unmarked.
