I've got 1 of these in 308 must say the rifle did not group that well when using a bipod when I did load development for it. Shot over a bag I found a big difference in group size big improvement.

Yes, way too big, but it's the only 5/8x24 UNEF can I have, as Ive never had the need for one as much as the more common imperial and metric threads.

Have you tried subsonic 308 rounds

Only just noticed at the end i wasnt watching gunmart tv🤣, nice little option for a compact reasonably priced rifle. Ive owned a rossi 223 before, not sure would i go back to ss. That was with the intention of night foxing though and never got much use unlike my current tikka t3x and bergata b14. For stalking i could see a single shot as a more viable option! Guess the 16" 8-twist would be more versatile regarding non lead but no doubt kick harder. Would be hell of a short.

Yep, very much an acquired taste, but also a bit addictive.

Do you recommend the 300 aac as I've swapped it for my 223

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the 300 AAC/Blackout. Sub-sonic loads can have issues with expansion, a friend of mine has a straight-pull SGC Speedmaster, which he re-barrelled in Blackout and he uses 110-grain bullets, which, he reckons are much better for foxing and also on the range.
