I was very, and rudely, shocked when they released the SDEX Nu Gundam, instead of a SDCS version. I heavily recommend the SDCS kits. I love them so much!

Wow I love these SD kits so much. Also, frankly, I prefer my beam saber to come like that...cause I just paint all my kits anyway ;)

I bought both of these separately & I'm glad I did because I bought the colour accurate frames & got the red booster pack for char's Zaku II. Great kits & the green Zaku II was the first Gunpla kit I ever built. also if you cut the rod that connects the beam saber handles it has a ball joint that holds it into the backpack so you can remove 1 handle at a time. I cant wait for the new booster pack that has 2 good beam sabers with removable clear beams & parts to covert the Zaku II to a Zaku I.

I actually started in the hobby with an SD gunpla. I didn't know anything about Gundam or building gunpla but I knew I liked the design so I grabbed it. Talked to my friend who watched the shows, so I started watching them and decided to pick up some HG kits. My rule is that I build SD kits to put on my work desk and HG for display in my bedroom.

They need to start including some neck adapters for mg, rg, and hg

I had a small heart attack when he took of the SDCS granddaddy head of, I tried to swap the eyes to the KAWAII version with mine the day after I built it and the neck piece SNAPPED IN HALF! This is the rx 782 by itself with the white cs and sd frame so luckily I had another neck piece, and then the chest broke in 3 when I was trying to get it off of the CS frame, so I had to make a quick rush to the hobby store and get some liquid cement to fix it, and phew I’m glad it’s done. I recently picked up the Unicorn Phenex and was worried I’d have trouble swapping the eyes but not anymore! Instead of on round 3mm pegs, they’re on a square peg that you can easily slide the eye piece on and off.

I have to mention real quick, the hg cold districts GM also had a color inaccurate bean saber. What was even stranger was that the holding hand was molded onto the saber, so not only do you have to paint the beam on that kit, but you also have to paint the hands, which is even more of a chore. This is just to help anyone who might consider getting that kit. Also, legit putting the sd head on a hg body looks way more natural. If anything, the hg head on an sd body should be the new sd line. Keep doing what ur doing, mecha!

I always liked the IDEA of SD kits but i wanted their proportions to be closer to say, the sprites of a Super Robot War game, and these CS give me just that.....not to mention with the CS just coming out, and them being SD kits.....they are pretty cheap, easy to make and can make awesome little desk toys.

If you disappointed with that toothpick beam saber, There's a new expansion set in preorder (maybe still on preorder state) that included: Part for transforming Zeta Gundam into wave rider, 2 pcs beam saber handle with clear pink effect parts as you see from SDCS Sisquide (Titans and AEUG), another styled pair of hands (maybe for.Zaku?), and some parts for making Zaku II into Zaku I. And like GM parts from SDCS CS frame and Silhouette Booster, you must paint it if you wanna use that parts. Hope this info helps you, Mecha Gaikotsu.

The hg with big head reminded me a certain online shooter game. And the sd with small heads reminded me of bulk head

The CS frames make me miss SD Gundam Force's proportions so much. I see these as a sort of spiritual sequel and that makes me really happy.

I've been thinking about getting some CS kits but i'm trying to focus on HGs so these would just be counterproductive in terms of time and money. They still look good though and the reduced amount of stickers & missing colour details is pretty nice along with having generally great build quality. If i get one; i gotta pick carefully.

Can you review the HG Char's Zaku revive and compare it to the origin version?

I just got a CS SD char Zaku. It's the pink/red variant which is cool but I didn't realize that most of these don't actually include the CS frame.... Was disappointed while building it but it's still too cute to hate. Maybe I'll pick that frame up even though it's an additional $8...

The SD Zaku II was my third gunpla, I have to say it's fun to build!! Also, atm I've only built SD Gundams but I'm saving up for my first HG.

I've been looking for a way on how to do those gargantuan heads and I can't believe I missed this thought (been collecting SD CS for awhile now and never would have thought of it - real shame me).

I definitely get what you mean about the SDCS Zaku-I have the standard green one with the extended parts and it's...okay. But next to him are the SD Zaku Warrior and the old BB Zaku II, and I dig the little guys a lot more.

The key problem with that GM booster is that it is only one color... and GMs need 3 (white, red, black). So you either paint, or you get screwed up colors. Or, as intended by Bandai, you buy 3 sets.

This is the only kind of SD I'm into. It's a lot like the Super Robot Wars proportions, where they're compact and stylish yet able to articulate for more involved attacks than just moving the arm up and down.

and i agree the origin version of the zaku 2 is the best one out. i bought 2 of them and 1 char zaku 2 and they all share parts as well. iv even modded my zaku 2 with the super black chest peaces that come with the regular zaku 2 as well as the knees and black parts on the feet

Had a nightmare last night. Got a Kit for Christmas. It was a PG Unicorn in SD scale.

Oh god, that beam saber reminds me of the one of the old high grades where it was a hand, holding a beam saber, and all of it was white, the hand and saber were a single piece, I'll have to see if I still have it in my box of useless plastic

That zaku is actually better than the one that is sold by itself. It has a nicer red.

My youngest daughter and I have been building Gunpla since before she could keep up with subtitles. Most times we wait out until we're near the closest shop or a convention to stock up on kits and then it's whatever is left on the shelf. Recently, we've taken to hunting down kits we see reviewed. Now, my question: the kit you reviewed shows "This item is not in stock, but can be ordered. A restocking date is currently unknown" How long of a wait are we talking? I'd really like to support your channel through the use of the links but I don't want to wait weeks at a time to get product.
