I think that instead of just a rigid damage cap they should make it so that any damage that would exceed the damage cap is reduced to like 10%, that way a super strong weapon isn't just the same as a pretty strong weapon

@@4thgreenburg that is sorta how it works already, though wouldnt weapons which _just_ about cross the damage threshhold be practically useless against bosses if that was the case?

I'm saying that all damage up to the damage cap is calculated normally as it is now, however, the damage that would be ignored because of the damage cap is still added it's just reduced to 10%. For example, the first floor bosses have a DPS cap of 30, so if you had a weapon with a DPS of 100 it would deal the initial 30 normally and the additional 70 damage would be reduced to 7 and added onto the 30 damage you already deal. So your DPS would be 37 instead of 30. A fairly considerable damage increase but certainly not overpowered. 10% is also just a starting number, 15% or 20% would maybe end up working better.

@@victorgallardo8454 no, bosses in non-boss rush runs have a Damage Per Second (DPS) Cap. Meaning that you can only do a fixed amount of damage per second to bosses, there are some weapons in game that ignore this cap. Gunderfury + rage deals an insane amount of damage as the video shows

Each boss has a DPS cap to prevent you for being overpowered. however, DPS Cap is disabled in Boss Rush, and is ignored by Glass Cannon, Makeshift Cannon, and Yari Launcher, or if you manage to deal more than 1000 damage with a single projectile.

Just a Random mimikyu the also added more guns that can ignore it. Glass cannon for instance ignores it and it’s a blue tier weapon with one ammo clips a long reload and absurd power perfect for gun drop technique. Also the high caliber I think it is called when you shoot someone a bubble appears and if you touch the bubble it does really good damage. The bubbles pierce the damage cap but not the gun itself. So unless you have the synergy which makes the bubbles pop out towards you instead of behind the enemy some bosses won’t be able to be killed rapidly with it because you cannot get behind them to grab the bubble like wall monger and the dragon.

Still is, gunderfury is doing all the work.

The Convict which is the character I'm playing as starts with an item that doubles your damage for a short time after taking damage. So I do that to kill the bosses faster

The lvl of Gunderfury carries over to other runs, if you level it up then that's a permanent upgrade. It just looks like it's level 1 before you pick it up

You can buy it in doug's shop in the breach but you need to spend about 2 and a half full runs to level up the gun first for it to become this strong

what index said, [Gunderfury, Blessed Gun of the Gunseeker] starts off at level 1 and gets XP for every kill with it in your inventory, up to a maximum of 60; this persists through all runs every 10 levels (20 initially) it increases its ammo capacity and changes its projectile type - at 1-20 it's a shotgun, at 21-30 it's automatic, at 31-40 it's slow and high damage, at 41-50 it speeds up, at 51-59 it is as it appears in this video, and at 60 it fires two parallel beams of light

Parker Bates you can be good in the binding of Isaac even without mad touhou like skills, also the bullet count per screen is severely reduced and you cannot get shot from offscreen. And don’t get me started on aimbotting enemies, fast projectiles mixed with slow ones so they get a cheap hit out of you because your brain believes you still have dodging time, SPINNING FUCKING PROJECTILES and bosses who take forever to kill and eventually wear down your focus till they hit you every. single. time. At least give me more blanks so I can use them on other situations then just boss fights, even touhou gives you more bombs on normal

Gunderfury is special in that it levels up when you kill enough enemies with it and the level carries over to subsequent runs as well. This is the max level

its just the standard bosses, not the extra bosses like blobulord, undead king, and the purple guy

You need to unlock all 5 shortcuts, then boss rush will be accessible from the shortcut room

Nathanael Waters you have to jump into the elevator pit on each floor to repair the elevator then you repair it one more time in the breach to unlock it. It’s been in the game since launch.

-Flat_Universe - play through the game and youll find him locked up in a cell usually you beat the boss of that floor you find him on and that boss drops the key
