Oh boy, this is so relatable. I learned Japanese in school for 7-9 years and after living in Japan for half a year (speaking Japanese at a fairly advanced level by then), I went to a local concert. After the concert, it was possible to talk to the performers, so I thought "Why not!". But when I wanted to say "It was so fun (to watch you perform)!" I messed up and said "It was so delicious!"...... I have yet to recover from the embarrassment.
