@@tommyaleks100 you might have not even reached to his toe in terms of anything . U try to sing one song …I’m sure you might be an empty vessel who makes loud sound . 🤣🤣. You are joker instead . In his age you won’t be able to squeeze mashed potato through your throat but he is at least doing a joke here.
I'd say it's worse than that. If range was the only issue, the band could just downtune and he'd sound great. His mix voice is clearly shot so sings in falsetto to compensate. By using his mix sparingly, he can still scream when the song calls for it, not amazingly, but not terribly either.
I was 16 in 87 as well and just discovering I liked more than just rap (of the era) music. If I had heard Jungle like THIS, I'd never listen to another rock song again.
After years and years in the same, sad blue denim (2006-2022) wearing a fresh, new pair of pants (shiny and silver thank you) is how I will remember Axl Rose in 2023.
my sixth grade teacher had a damaged voice because she always yelled her lungs out at kids who weren’t listening… been two years now, I wonder what she’s been up to.
I saw Axl is Tampa in 2006 in Tampa Florida. It was the best I ever heard him sound. He was thin and in shape. 2006 I feel like was his strongest vocal year. The 80s and 90s he was king but 2006 was right there. Not sure what happened. Aging has caught up with him but 2006 Tampa Florida Axl brought me to tears lol
Awesome! Slow, sluggish & energy-free with Mickey Mouse guesting on lead vocals! What more could you ask for? How much did you pay for tickets to this shamble-fest?? 😂😂
**CRINGEFEST JUST GOT CRINGIER** bACK in the day AXL was the shit! But now Im feeling bad for him. It's like a poor joke that everyone's in on. KEEPING THEIR DISTANCE ALL SIDE-EYING WITH A SMIRK! **BUT GUESS WHAT, MY RESPECT FOR OZZY JUST MULTIPLIED TEN-FOLD X100!** sOMEONE SHOULD AT LEAST TRY TO GET AXL TO CONTACT HIS [OZZY] SOUND MAN, BECAUSE THAT SHIT IS BRUTAL! I'm embarrassed for THEM OR HIM. iT'S EASY TO KEEP A 6 STRING IN TUNE OR KICK SOME MORE BASE ON A DRUM KIT....BUT LAWDY LAWDY HE MISSES EVERY NOTE EVERY TIME WAY TF OUT OF TUNE.. **YOLO!**
the CD recording was 123bpm. This is slow at 117. Then it picks up to 120bpm and faster. Live versions need to be at least as fast as the recorded version or they drag. I agree it feels sluggish.
Id be highly disappointed buying tickets to see/hear a legendary band how’s singer doesn’t have it anymore and sadly most of “hair metal” bands vocalists don’t have their voice anymore and are forgetting lyrics for some reason
Axl sounds like Dr. Rockso! This is so awesome. I’m going to see them in NJ on Tuesday (8/15/23). I’m so psyched! This is one band I always wanted to see but never managed to do it. It’s going to be awesome. Saw Metallica there yesterday too!!!!!!!
@@jimmyg41 Yeah man!!!! It was awesome!!! Got the shirt on today. They played for almost 3 and a half hours!!!! They really seemed to be enjoying themselves too, which makes it so much better for us. Took my 9 year old son (Metallica too) and he said “This is the best day of my life” both times. He said that for Megadeth last September too. Every show is better than the last as far as he is concerned, which makes it extra cool for me. That’s too bad you’re going to be out of town when they’re by you. I’m at a water park today, and Sweet Child of Mine just came on their radio as I’m typing this. We’re trying to see all the cool old bands we can, while we still can. Going to KISS in December too. Unfortunately we just missed Sublime last week. One of my favorite bands of all time is Alice N Chains and I think they’re playing some shows with GNR on this tour, but unfortunately The Pretenders opened the show we went to, instead. Hope you get to see them one day, JimmyG! Have a good one! 🤘
@@angeldehaaan686I hear ya. It sucks when rock stars get old. It was still cool to see them because they’re such an iconic band, and I’ve seen other bands that sounded worse than GnR when they were over the hill.
No excuse for him to not have kept himself in shape or kept his voice in check he can't even do the Awwwww before the the main chords start. He sounds like Micky Mouse can't even move any more and people are paying to see this shit. Slash, Duff there fine. Dee Snider is almost 70 and he looks better and sound better. Alice Cooper same thing. I'll say this at least he's not further embarrassing himself by using audio help.

Its so wierd seeing grown men play a song they made as teenagers. His voice has changed dramatically, hes not screaming the whole song rather hes now singing high pitched
There’s always a certain low IQ percentage of the population that expect people to just roll over and die when they get old. Like somehow getting old is supposed to invalidate your worth as an individual. While these musicians arent like they used to be, they still demonstrated more talent in one day than you have in your entire life
@@vinsanity982 Yo man no need to get mad of course he is a top musician but I can see why people got dissapointed that's the sad truth whenever a celebrity gets old people are surprised they can't perform the same wether singing or sports-wise for some reason.
@@SamWillBenchYa I'm not mad, I'm just expressing my opinion. To me it is very surface level and selfish thinking, hence low IQ. It's a MYOB thing. Live and let live. You see this stuff in music and sports where delusional fans develop some self importance like they should have a say in what other grown adults do with their lives.
Check out Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, and Eric Adams from Manowar. Bruce had _throat_ cancer, Rob did as many drugs as Axl (but got clean) and Eric actually looked after himself, and Is now 70-something. All 3 still got voices ten times better than Axl rn and they're all a good bit older than him
He’s in his 60’s now. He spent his late teens, into his early 30’s screaming his lungs out and ragging out his voice. He destroyed those vocal cords. I’m surprised there isn’t an injection or surgical repair he hasn’t opted for to “improve” them.
No excuse for not keeping himself in vocal shape could have gotten vocal lessons do voice warm ups he just let himself go. Can't do it any more don't. He sounded good until a little after 2002 than he just went down hill.
@@daviddoyle8956exactly because look at the singer Phil Lewis from L.A. Guns, Bang Tango's vocalist even the vocalist from Madam X & so many more they all kept their vocals wounding fantastic well after the 80's we're over so defiantly zero excuse and don't get me started either on Vince Neil he is another sorry excuse won't practice his vocal skill nor loose weight at least Axel took in consideration to loose some weight...
Wanted to get himself back in shape first I expect he was a mess when they first came back he looked on deaths door honestly. Maybe he will look into ops once he feels he can’t do no more through exercise etc. it’s just good to see him running around now and looking a lot healthier on stage can’t fault his effort
He sounded much better in 2016 with his rasp. I think he is trying to protect his voice in 2023 and not doing the rasp. I think they would better off with shorter set list and keeping the rasp.
