+4Blade17 Sadly, RU-vid has become the place you go if you're wanting to say terrible things about other people. I have no idea why this particular video has been seen so many times, but honestly, the comments here don't speak well of G'N'R fans. I thought she did a fine job on this song, as well as the other kids. School of Rock shows always have a mix of more and less experienced musicians - for instance the bass player on this is excellent.

+Prithvish Banerjee The thing is, I put these videos up mostly for the parents. I honestly have no idea why this particular video has been viewed so many thousands of time. The kids learn a show over the course of twelve weeks, then do two shows. I thought this was a particularly good performance from the show. It's not perfect, true, but it was excellent for their ages. And they did get better.

***** but the negative comments on this video were really unnecessary.. People on youtube can be really mean and childish!! I mean, how can u compare this little girl to Axl Rose..!! or the young guitarist to Slash..!! really crazy people..!! Wish them all the very best.. really happy to see them being exposed to this music..

Percy Cordova Thank you. I put these videos up because I think they have done a good job on the song, and also because I believe some of these kids will become successful musicians in the future. I have no idea why this one is so widely seen, but yeah - I'm shocked by the vehemence of some of the comments.The kids don't learn songs to put on a show - they put on a show to learn. They do three shows a year, and by the time a kid graduates, they'll probably have played a dozen or more shows in different genres of rock - metal, prog, country rock, rock opera, you name it.

Indeed. In a School of Rock show there is a mixture of skill levels. Some kids might has started playing or singing a few months ago, some can have done a dozen shows and be at pro level. Michaela Davis was at the pro level, with the chops to step into any any band in the city. The older and more skilled kids generally serve as band leaders and mentors to the younger and/or less skilled ones.

Yeah I know I play bass and guitar at school of rock. And yes indeed she is a definite leader. Thanks for video taping our concerts!

The thing about School of Rock is it's kids from 8 to 18, and every show has one or two older, more experienced kids to mentor the younger ones - being the totally cool big sister or brother. Not every kid is going to be equally skilled, but they know if they keep at it and practice, they can get there.

Yeah, in most School of Rock shows, the kids are at a wide range of skills, and there usually is one experienced player to help the rest of the kids. And Michaela is a really solid player.
