My dad named me after this song. He told my mom "if I ever have a daughter, I'm naming her Patience" and that's how I came to be. He passed when I was 16 in 2020 due to a heart attack. At 52 years old... I am the BEST I have been my whole life! "No bread, no pasta, no Sugar" got me back to where I was in High School (when this song came out)... I'm an "empty nester," now and "Patience" got me here: thru years of marriage I thought would kill me -- into true marital bliss (still with same God-given woman [there's no doubt you're in my heart, now, Kimberly])! The tears, smiles, wind-sprints and the dumbells come so easy, now! Wine flows, songs grow! Patience..Patience..Patience..the rewards are at the end of a long, hard row... Love seemed to "work itself out fine!!" Thank you, Lord for this woman and my "patience!" 31 years.. I hope for just ONE MORE DAY!!

My mom used to whistle this song every single day when I was way little, used to think it was the prettiest thing I’d ever heard, and had a beautiful melancholy feeling. She’s still with me, but I cut her off awhile ago cause she turned out to be really manipulative and bad, so whenever I hear this song I start crying terribly cause it reminds me of when life was perfect.

I’m a drummer but despite me not getting a single thing that goes on with the guitar here i can still tell that it’s the most beautiful use of acoustic guitar i’ve ever heard and it brings me to tears everytime I did not get to experience this song when it came out as i’m only 16 but i wish so badly that i could’ve been there when this came out

It's December 4th, 2021. Today would have been my youngest brothers birthday. He would have turned 43 today. We lost him way too soon at 30. I can still see him doing the Axle Rose sway in my head. My mom had this album. I remember this, as well as many others, being played throughout a lot of my youth which helped shape my path into music. She would always say after this song “ patience is the one thing in life that will get you the farthest” , boy was she right. I was 19 years old in 1988, listening to this CD with my friend, his young girlfriend and her friends, drinking beer and having a good time. Now I'm just freakin' old.

The end kind of came quickly for Guns, but for a short period of time, my lord, were they phenomenal. A lot of technically great musicians, topped off by one of the greatest and most unique voices in rock and roll history. NOBODY before or since sounded like Axl. I honestly think I can make an argument that he had THE greatest voice ever. Hes famous for his screech, but it was a MELODIC screech lol, and in songs like this, and "Dont Cry", you hear just how CRAZY his range is asa singer as well. Lastly, his lyrics. They are like poetry, and so far above SO MANY bands where the lyrics are either downright jibberish, or just sound like they were written during a five minute you know what. You can hear the time Axl put into the words. He and this band werent just about making money and scoring with chicks. You can tell they had a lot of pride in the quality of the music they put out.

Damn I think of my dad and me jamming out to old great rock music. He passed in November of 2023 at 53. I’m 29. I miss him every damn day!! Talked to him everyday.. I miss him always!!!… I just know we are still rocking together till this day!! He was the one who got me into rock music and loving drums at a young age. He was never a drummer.
