Ha. Funny to see myself mentioned in this video. That video of me was filmed by nick woolsey in Australia around 2003. Wibbling was the o oy thing I kept back from sharing on spherculism because I'd planned to do a big tutorial video all about it. Taught lots of people in person though.
Super cool, I am unable to do flowers because I have trouble conceptualizing it but these gunslingers are easier for me some how. It is cool to see the style of so many artists mixed and mashed into one performance.
Nice man, love the way your videos evolve with the time! :) I shortly started with gunslingers and 1-hand/2-Poi moves ... I especially love the antispin flower, looks soo mesmerizing.. But I have a question for the handles. I noticed, these are capsules with flowcap... is this your new experimental setup or whats the reason therefore? (maybe they just have the perfect counterweight?) I'am working at my setup too and thought exactly about this, because I really like the capsule (as) handles, but the knob at the end sometimes disturbs...
I used the capsule handles both because they show up easier on video as well as the fact that they're shorter than my contact poi so they're a better fit for my home studio. You'll note when I'm doing the flowers that I'm in kind of a power stance--the reason for this isn't that it looks cool, it's that I have to do it in order to avoid hitting the ceiling with my poi ;) My preferred set are definitely still my contact poi.
Hy Drex if you could make a tutorial of opposite archer fountain that would be amazing or how to turn in isolation or put the isolation above the head.
Ok first off, not a poi spinner so no clue what gunslingers were lol. But very cool trick. In terms of static props I understand a middle grip to be good for speed and ultimately lower wrist impact. and overall I feel it adds a smoothness of control to the static prop realm as you're close to the center of mass therefor can control whatever angle you want to go to next with less effort. Second. I recently remembered a video I saw a long time ago and really been getting into the idea and this is probably up your alley. So I guess it's called Gestument?? will link reference video at the end of this. But basically it's a way to turn your prop spinning into music. I feel using a kinnect is ok but with a proper censors set up just imagine a musical note being played depending on where the prop was height wise and the speed of your spin is what determines tempo. Possibilities!!!! The juggling world has truly been working on that next level stuff XD XD. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ArmIxzBRMnE.html
Suffice it to say, I know of people doing similar stuff in the poi realm and the demos they've created are jaw-dropping. There are some very, very cool things coming on the horizon.
