I do not own the copyrights video is just for fun! Gurney races on mash 4077 season 2 episode the trial of henry blake gurney races between: Hawk''s pride Gal 'o war Girl away Bouncing betty
His character became more naïve after Blake died. The Radar of the first 3 seasons was different than the last 4 (how he was portrayed, not the actor).
By a...by a...chest! Think about it-It's not dirty. Women have chests, just like men do, and the female breasts are part of the chest area on females, just like pectoral muscles are part of the chests of males. Besides, it's an honest statement. Henry could a just said by a chest. It's clean, and it's honest!
Henry knew it may not have been "regulations", but he also knew just how much hell his team went through. Frank was a putz. No Fun Frank. 👎 Just orders and 🪖military🪖crap. But the big thing, Henry KNEW how to have FUN! And occasionally allowed the camp to let loose.
I once saw Col Blake (McLean Stevenson) speak when I was a freshman at Utah State University in 1994. He was fantastic. He was everything you would hope he would be.
@@jamesfountain6183 Henry was a friend, a buddy, a goofy member of the group. Potter was a Dad. He was real Army, or REG. Army. But he also saw the doctors as his kids. Both were laid back, but Henry was more anti-army, and pro fun. Both were great in their own way but Henry was such a Joker.
Cpl Klinger..the essence of Section 8 style! A fashionista must not rest on the 'laurels' of past triumphs! One must look to ..and possibly.. outpace the conservatives of Milan and Paris! Bear in mind that Cpl Klinger had only the assistance of the best department stores in Seoul, Tokyo, and the Speigel Catalog from Chicago..no offense to Seoul and Tokyo..and Chicago..but it was the early '50s..Klinger still wouldn't have had a chance in Paris!
We went to the Track yesterday, and "BOUNCINNNNNNNNNG BETTY' popped into my head, and I kept saying it during each race, butt I had no idea where it was from till I searched 'Bouncing Betty Horse Racing' just now! Thanx MASH!!! )))
I liked potter a lot from an acting stand point but, the later seasons of mash were just pitty stories with not much substance compared to the original episodes.
@@canyonmann1 Apparently McLean Stevenson shot a comedy sketch for a show that ran just after the first run of his final episode, of himself in character as Henry, sitting in a life raft, waving his arms and shouting "I'm OK". I've never seen it, but I know it must be out there somewhere.
One of my most favorite episodes! I really wish that MASH had stayed a little more like this over the years. Henry should have stayed longer before being replaced by Potter and Trapper never should have left.
I got mine 7+years ago. It's in a green army colored box. It has a book of extras and disc descriptions. A 📋Clipboard📋, the original movie, both reunion specials, and every uncut episode from every season. I paid over $150.00 but it was SOOO WORTH IT!
@@EdsterIII When I bought the set there were like 7 or 8 faulty discs for the set. Luckily the EBAY seller allowed me to replace them. Awesome series. My favorite character is Margarite Houlihan. I am talking about the green Army steel can as well.
@@rogerporath9515 Glad you got them replaced. I play most of my discs on my PS4 but recently some of my older discs have been sketchy. Considering this set has what 36 discs? I'm glad all of mine still work without issues. Margaret's character evolved so much. Out of everyone in the show she did the most amazing transformation. From her perspective of a obey any order regardless of its merit or intelligence to a strong heart who realized what the army could stand for at times. She wasn't my "favorite" considering how much she annoyed me in seasons 1-3....lol. JK. I honestly liked Henry Blake the most. He was the most genuine person, honest, goofy guy in the show. To be honest I have a spot for everyone of these characters. I literally could type scenes from everyone of the characters that I liked. Seasons 1-3 were my favorites for the antics. Seasons 4-11 were just as good but different as far as humor and characters. In Seasons 1-3 Trapper, Henry, and even the Religious Frank Burns all played around on their wives. Season 4 ended that. Hawkeye was still a "playboy" but single. B.J.Hunnicutt and Colonel Sherman T. Potter replaced Trapper and Henry. Both adored their wives. The show took a more "family" aspect to it. Charles replaced Frank, and Margaret's marriage to Donald Penobscot ended that dalliance. So much more character development made this show so much more enjoyable. Even now after seeing every episode 5-15+ times. Sorry for the long comment, but once I start yapping about M*A*S*H I can get lost in the memories. Thanks for the reply and here's to a great show! I'm actually on the finale. My second run through this year. Take care sir!
Thanks for posting this - big chunks of this scene were taken out for the syndication versions that stuff more commercials in. Also interesting to hear this without the canned laugh track. I'd heard that the DVD gives you the option to play the show with or without. Most territories outside the US always heard these episodes without the laughs.
usually just high enough to castrate a soldier and blow his legs off/severely damage them. i've read that a wounded person requires 7 additional personell to deal with the injury. the BB was not meant to kill, but rather inflict severe injury.
y'know sometimes you see an episode so many times you miss the important stuff .like, for instance, McLean Stevenson wrote this episode. "the Trial of Henry Blake".it happens to be one of the most well written and funny episodes of this show I've ever seen. and THAT'S saying something .where did you find these outtakes?
Tony M - I remember the part near the end when they present a pregnant Korean girl to the general and say " this is an example of Henry Blake's work." Even as a kid I busted out laughing at that scene.
Not sure why anything like that would be so controversial? (Except maybe the betting) I mean that activity is pretty much what they do when casualties roll in. They get as fast as they can from place to place. Plus it's a creative way to keep people physically fit.
The betting was the issue as it was against regulation. They usually looked the other way. One time the Cardinal was coming and Father Malcahy had the men break up a game they had going Colonel Potter even reminding them it was against regs.
@@drpinky504 The funny thing is, UCMJ does kind of allow for some gambling to take place, so long as it's not happening between enlistedmen and officers, or between those of superior rank (since that can create other situations). So technically, E-1s to E-4s (specialists) can gamble to their hearts content, so long as they aren't doing so with an E-5 or higher, or any officers. However, in most circumstances, there's nothing done about it even if it is caught, but that also depends on who caught them.
Jokes and memes and disorderly conduct aside. A gurney race isn’t an altogether bad idea from a practical training and frankly moral building standpoint. Which explains why the army is condemning it
@@jayferguson9968 Blake was Army Reserve, Potter was Active Duty, I think Frank and Charles were Reserve as well, that's why they were Majors when Hawkeye, Trapper and BJ were only Captains. I don't know about 1950, but a licensed physician enters the Army at a minimum rank of Captain.
That's because Potter had a foot to put down on Margaret and that made her know he was in charge. He was no-nonsense but knew that morale was important
@@AJMIckna2010 totally different thing. You carry stretchers. You roll gurneys. The general wasn't a doctor. And the question is simply to set up the joke.
After being confined to "The Swamp" by the Asshole Frank Burns, Pierce and McIntyre found a way out to rescue Lt. Colonel Henry Blake from a Court Marshal set up by Majors Burns and Houlihan. This was in the episode "The Trial of Henry Blake". If I was Captain Pierce, after everything was settled, I'd write a letter to The Pentagon in Washington telling them about the Attempted Mutiny of my C.O., Lt. Colonel Henry Blake, done by Majors Frank Burns and Margaret Houlihan. Explain that Burns had him(Pierce) and Captain John McIntyre imprisoned in his quarters by Military Police while Blake was on trial so that they could not foil his plans for Mutiny as that trial was set up by Burns knowing that we were going to go defend Blake on Trial. And I would also request that Burns and Houlihan would be Court Martialed, and permanently kicked out of the Army!
Can anyone find the line where Colonel Blake references the seismology people at Fordham? I know the professor who runs the facility and it would crack him up. Thanks.
The Episode was called Crisis. Season 2 Episode 21. All of the Doctors, Radar, and Klinger have to camp together to conserve heat. Klinger comes in asks where to park it and Trapper asks him if he reads at night. Take the bunk next to Frank, he gives off a glow. Father Mulchahy is there and then Radar and Henry come in. Radar also asks where to sleep. Henry says you better have me face away from everyone, on account of my snoring. Hawkeye, "Oh WONDERFUL!" Trapper, "you're joking!?" Henry, "Joking? I once snored the siding off my house. I get messages every year from the sisemograph people at Fordham." Hawkeye "How are we suppose to sleep through that?!" "If it gets too bad do what my wife does"....."what's that?" ....."hold me close." Henry's one last nighttime comment, "AWWW I HAVE TO GO TO THE SANDBOX!" Sorry for the long comment, but once I started typing the scene I remembered every line. I bet I can recite a bunch of Henry parts. M*A*S*H went from the show I disliked as a little kid, 5-10 yrs old. To a show I absolutely adore and watch, binge watch, or just watch clips. Seasons 1-3 always great for a laugh.
Why, Candice Gibson, you get a gold star sticker to lick and stick smack dab in the middle of your forehead. Wear it with pride! Oh, and major props to your old history teacher.
MASH SUCKED WHEN HENRY BLAKE WAS KILLED OFF WHEN TRAPPER JOHN LEFT THE SHOW AND WHEN FRANK BURN'S LEFT THE SHOW. HARRY MORGAN, MIKE FARRELL AND DAVID OLGIN STIER BECAME REGULARS ON MASH WORST CAST EVER
