It's a decent card. It's a 2 for 2 for 1 counter blast and gains +2 crit since you retired two rearguards for it's first skill. Not to mention you could manually retire your own rearguards by calling over them if you feel like risking it for even more crits (probably not optimal, but it's a thing). I like that they're giving us balanced clan support and more card choices for deck construction, rather than just outright power creeping the older cards.
It's not decent at all tbh...... this card totally loses to Protect clans XD at least pbd's retire 3 could destroy most of the opponent's field but 1 rear guard doesn't change a thing. u gaining a crit during battles against protect clans isn a plus at all. It's literally a minus. You gaining 10k is nothing against a protect marker. And if you play force clans, you are supposed to also play cards for countermeasure in case you go against a clan which has an advantage due to Gift. But I don't see Gust Blaster being a VR from the skills he has, rather a RRR or a RR instead
Honestly dude I do agree with you while I don’t know for sure if this card will benefit the deck massively no one does I mean as solemn said not a lot of people thought Alfred would’ve benefited the deck but as it turns out it did and royals are topping constantly in Japan so the same could be for Gust blaster because honestly I think this guy is an awesome pressure card/ finisher because if the opponent takes this guy’s attack they’re more than likely gonna die plus the draw is quite nice. If you think about it you draw for turn use this skill draw a card and then the twin drive you’re getting 4 cards in your hand a turn every time the skill is activated providing there’s no draw triggers. I just think this is an awesome card that deserves a chance before being shoved into the LOL CARD IS BAD corner

You are correct. There could be solid rear guard support that makes this a lot better. But as it stands the clan still folds to good protect decks. This doesnt really solve anything for the deck. Royals also do well because they have Exculpate, not only is it a board wipe, but its a way for them to attack more than 3 times, which is key against protect I think the deck will be way different in vbt04 than it was in vbt02 due to that fact that they want us spamming gust and he doesnt require as many resources to use. Here's to hoping the rest of the support makes him viable.
I think it'll be more of an alternate between Gust and PBD situation depending on matchup/boardstate than strictly spamming Gust. Kudos to you for being hopeful about the rest of the set before completely writing off GBD.
@@runeritari3 Sure it's easier to sustain, but it's also weaker than pbd. Retiring 3 is a big deal, it's what made PBD a big threat. There is a trade off between Gust and PBD.
@@captingamer29 yeah there is a trade off but if you did feel like it, Dust can end up limiting your opponents counterblast since it'll be swinging for 3 crit every time it activates that skill, so if your opponent is at 3 they'll have to guard him. And depending on the rears we get this could really make a difference since Counterblasting is still a necessity.
It’s correct. You have to use units that can retire by their own skill like Fearsword Dragon, then with Gust’s skill (if you activated Fearsword’s skill twice), you can easily have 6 Crit on your Vanguard. It’s like a one hit kill. So this unit is like PG or die (depending on it’s power of course)
As I’m building both Link Joker and Shadows, I’ll probably see this guy in the future. Looking at his skill, I think he’ll be brilliant in the late game after you flush a few of your opponent’s PGs. Against Protect Clans he may have some trouble, but he’s definitely an interesting card, and should add some nice dynamics to his clan. Also like, can we talk about his art??? Whoever drew that has my respect holy damn.
He's great even early game after you Phantom because you are essentially forcing your opponent to take potentially a game winning hit or just drop hand. He just needs to be played smartly and with knowledge, and also denying damage.
MY BOI!!! Yeah I'm not disappointed I can definitely make this guy busted or at the very least scary. With a combo like that he by himself says "pg or take at least 3 damage" just make strong hitting rearguards and give them triggers and that's all she wrote
EternalDragonWarrior I ran a proxy test with this yesterday, left my opponent on 1 damage only, they eventually ran out of resources and had to take a 6 damage swing from Gust.
@@HaHa-gg9dl The guy is just very strong, he can keep up the pressure thanks to people like Nemain alone, he doesn't require multiple cards for combos, he plus you while he hits the opponent hard, he's perfect the way he is...a guard restrict would've been stupid and surely ruined him Seriously Force isn't even suppose to beat Protect decks anyway, at least not so naturally with a built in skill...play the cards right sure kick them into the dirt but their own skills...heck no
I feel like it’s a good change of pace , stop asking for guard restrict when guarding is technically the only interaction we could do on the opponent turn.personally bushi should just make more affordable budget deck that actually playable damn you for your new bt bushi ppl just gonna take advantage of others. Also technically we should forget the aspect about this being bad against protect consider against accel , premium .
this card is really good , and it's nice that they didn't make it super busted which would affect the meta alot instead they have kept it such that it requires skills to pull it off properly to end your opponent while understanding your field and cards
I think this card could see some play, don’t think this card is gonna be a huge major issue. It has its limits on what it can do, which is become a 23k 2 Crit attacker. So with what should happen maybe is that this card is played at 1 or 2 just in case you need to ride something other than Badhacar. I don’t see this card seeing much play, unless this set releases a card that just makes this card broken. Like the support from Diablo where Charon can be counted as 2 retires
Actually, if we think about it this will be second ride. If u give both Force to VG, then it's at least 43k 3c every turn without boost. That's some Hella good pressure
We have a lot of support that’s still to be released, so who knows how this card will turn out. I don’t really see it replacing anything from the grade 3 lineup, but it could make for some serious tech choices in the near future
I hope the other support helps this like royals got jelp with thier new stuff. Cause as a shadow main, im tired of getting stomped by ott and angel which at my locals is a lot.
I think the card is ok. Its kind of boring but I like that its effect is on attack so you don't have to call more cards to attack with after retiring like Pbd. So you can just swing with a colum then swing with VG and because you retire during battle and not main phase yo don't need to commit more rears to attack with. Its kind of weird that both Pbd and this want to be second ride tho.
Good that you aren’t jumping to conclusions just yet 👍🏻 It is a meh skill, but the rest of set has yet to reveal itself over time. Prediction: - a G0 or G1 that has a when retired by vg skill that provides guard restrict I hope 😂
Ride PBD push opponent to 2 or 3 damage, ride GBD pressure the opponent to guard to Vanguard and no guard the rear-guard attacks, then most likely the opponent is 4 or 5 damage, then ride PBD to finish off opponent.
eeh, i put pbd anyway in the deck. if he get first ride i can still use him for pbd ACT skill. if he get second ride, i can use all his skill, + gift one thing i dont like from gust is his nose.

Question: since you’ve been in the game forever, do you have any estimation or suggestion as to when the Dimension Police clan is going to get any more support? From past experience at least. Honestly because of the reboot their release schedules are totally different from back in the day, so I'm honestly lost as to what clans will get support next. They promised they'd support every clan at least once a year so I guess august would be the latest :P Honestly, DP is currently much better in Premium than in Standard. They just won a Premium WGP so there's a DP player going to worlds. They have a handful of top 8s in the BCS circuit, despite being super under-represented. They have quite a few tricks that can catch many decks off guard and I feel like the build isn't even solved yet so there's still various avenues to explore.

The only thing I really don't like about Gust Blaster is that he isn't really what Shadows needed, he is really similar to PBD, but more of a budget version cost wise. He himself is a pretty good card, nets you even, gets some fat crits, and applies some cool pressure. He does not, however, stop the issue that the deck had with protect decks. I will always reserve final comments until all the support is released, because sometimes the rares or commons can be what makes the deck work so well since they jus tie loose ends together, sometimes even carry the deck. As he is by himself however and with the current support we know, however, he doesn't look so hot in terms of making shadows more competitive. With Monarch Alfred I could just see the deck getting better with him, I was absolutely hyped, could just he I can't see as much potential cause I am a Royals main, not a Shadows main, but for now waiting is all we can do.
@@gameguru42392 They are still able to be used against the deck, but for an example of what I mean, Waterfall is a counter to protect for Kagero, if Kagero had to stick with stuff like Dragonic Overlord for all of their pressure, they would be in a similar situation as Shadows are. Waterfall also isn't the be all end all of the matchup either, since he is still able to be guarded and protect markers can be used on rears and DO and so on so forth, so the markers are still usable, but Shadows just sort of fall over when their opponents get consistent pgs, which makes that matchup super tough for them
I am thinking or 2 gust blaster, 4 phantom blaster amd 2 caar. Not sure though. I would love if you would do a standard deck profile on shadows after the set is revealed.
I find GBD to be very good even without the new RGs that may support it. It opens up a lot of possible plays/builds. You could just use it as smaller PBD or you could abuse its insane crit generation to play a dmg-denial game. Suddenly people could be running 4xCaar and 4xCursed Lancer just so they could make the most of his skill without commiting to the board almost at all, compared to the early days of SPs rushing down all 3 rows. It certainly doesnt improve the Protect matcup but thats not his fault. Protects are just 2 stronk cause Bushi fucked up.
It's not crazy super strong powerful, it's just consistent powerful. Sure, protect clans eat it up, but what force clan other than Kagero doesn't get shit on protect.
its eat protect up easily you cant stop him he eats them to easy reason their are limited basically to 3 life when they dont have any way to go up in dmg gust blaster says basically hope you like having only 3 counter blast and nothing more for the rest of the game this is the card traduce and this is the reason why it eats protect alive you can simple only atack with gust when their are at 3 life their have 2 opion being dead or perfekt guard and losing resources
I still think phantom blaster is better. I think you swing with this then phantom blaster because maybe this gust blaster just damage starves tour opponent and then you just smack them in the face with pb next turn

If you do have a G3 blaster in soul, yes he will gain 2 crits as his skill is not once per turn. You could also call over your own rear guards for more crits!
Gains crit for each card retired. So by itself with the first skill he swings for 23k with 3 crit. If you attack your opponents rear guard with your own and they let it die Gust gains another crit as well.
Dragonicblaster Yeah, waterfall can be easily countered by proper resource management, and it just wrecks other force and accel clans when it's supposed to be a protect counter 🤔
I really don't hit every VR that's revealed. I sometimes am too busy with my company and just don't get to making a video on a reveal. As for last few weeks, first my brother was in the hospital and then I got ill myself, so I didn't make any videos :) Hope that clears things up

a very dissapointing card altogether its really not worth a VR rarity now dark dictator one of the best g3 in sp is out of the deck PBD and GBD are both being second ride means one of them has to have one of their skills as vanilla high crits seems good but you have to force cursed lancer and grade 1 dragon with self retire skill in deck to just get above 3 crits cause self minusing for win right!! which is not optimal this card being a second ride wont get to hit for sure and also 10k buff isnt scary and that makes PBD looks like a finisher LOL overall this isnt card that should have been VR a RRR at best and not something SP needed
