Thank you very much for the instruction video. I followed the instruction and somehow the unit does not show up on Etcher flash software when it was connected to my Windows computer via USB C connection. Can anyone help me how to recognise the unit on Windows computer?

Question: when you only use Tidal and Spotify Connect to stream to the R26, will the soundquality with a Eversolo as "streamer only" increase or is it a waste of money?

depends how “clean” is the lan cable to R26. Last I checked it was noiser and Eversolo Sounded cleaner.

Hi! Great combo! Do you know by any chance what would sound better. R26 or the new Eversolo dmp-a8? I’m trying to decide if I should get the A8. All I’m interested in is the best sound quality for streaming tidal/qobuz. Thank you!

Depending on your taste, A8 has more features and does a lot more. But I like the way r26 sounds

@@HiFi_Paradise Thank you so much! As far a I understood, I can use with the r26 tidal connect from my iphone just like I do with my node. Or is it better to have a separate streamer? If not, it sounds like r26 will be the best choice in terms of sound quality. Thank you!

Yes, A8 is made of dual Delta-sigma AKM chips, should be close to the A26 (same chips) in term of details. However, for the soundstage & "organic" rendu I think the R26 is still better. A8 & A26 are faster for modern music, and if you like to feel the voices ahead of the rest, but for a pure guitar recording, slow jazz songs, R26 is better IMHO. Again it also depends on the connectivity, strangely the A26 & R26 sounds better using the LAN interface (through Roon) and even better in NOS mode (where NOS is enabled i.e. internal A/R26 OS is not oversampling anything) with Roon/HQPlayer vs A8 or A6/ME connected by USB to the R26 or A26 (in this case the A8 is used a simple streamer, which is a waste of money IMHO).

Thanks for the Vid. Maybe you can help me out? I also use for streaming the Eversolo A6. Connected to the R26 via USB. But Sometimes i want to use the Coax Connection. I bought an expensive cable for this. Even if the resolution is lower, I find the sound has more depth and sounds warmer. Unfortunately, the relay of the R26 clicks every time the sample rate changes. This is annoying and is certainly not healthy for technology in the long run. What can I do here? Everything is fine via USB...

why is it unhealthy? Relay shouldn’t click with sample rate changes but with DSD to PCM and vis versa

@HiFi_Paradise thanks for the tutorial, works very well on R26. I've just received an A26, and should DSD native, the SDM settings in HQPlayer are not working, the music is having drops every 5 sec. My CPU is at 50% (i9-9900kf). Could you recommend PCM & SDM settings for A6 please ?

maybe the trick is to unckeck adapative rate, no more drops, hope this help others ...

Yes, you need to play with the settings and filters to get the best combo

@@HiFi_Paradise thanks but strangely your settings are working fine with the R26 but with A26 it’s working only if original sampling is below 96kHz and 24 bit, above or equal to this sampling A26 is not catching up. R26 with HQplayer or UAPP is far better than A26 through LAN….

Thanks! Upgrade went perfectly!! Have the same combination: Eversolo + r26. Connected with usb. What are the best settings in the Eversolo app with latency and MQA? (Only use Tidal) Is there also a possibility to turn off the flashlight when the Gustard is in standby mode? Many thanks in advance!

thank you, i use the default settings on Eversolo so its very good. You can turn off the blinking light from R26 settings, check it out.

HQ player does all the Upsampling itself. It needs only a clear signal and then you have showtime.

I purchased the Gustard Audalytics AH90 and have KLH Model 5 speakers. I am very happy. the AH90 is a great kit and for the money: Headphone amp, Streamer and DAC a steal at 1/3 rd the price of the A26 or R 26.

Hi. Is your Tidal connect working? Mine does not. It says network error in Tidal connect when connecting/playing music. :-(

@@jvfaura yes it does. I can use it with or without Roon. Make sure you signal is strong if using Wifi to an access point. Are you using the LAN or USB input of the AH90?

@clarice1001nights Using the LAN. I can see the Gustard in my Tidal, using Android Tidal app. When i connect though and play it returdlns network error.

@@jvfaura Mine works flawlessly. When using Tidal or Roon one has to indicate the output endpoint. If you are having "network" problems, I would assume you could have a either set-up problems or the following: signal strength or proper identification of the endpoint (driver, if applicable.)

I followed your instructions and after flashing with Balena the update failed. Looking at the Gustard hard drive with my computer, it shows an empty drive. Would you please post in reply the exact link for V1.43 and how I can reset the Gustard R26. Thanks.

Hallo, Does Gustard R26 support ROON RAAT? My Gustard R26 only supports ShairportSynk AirPlay-streaming. PCM 44.1Hz only. Connection via LAN

Hello, mine doesn't even show the 32gb storage of My gustard, it just says the storage name and that i must format the disk before formating anything on it, please could you help me?

@@HiFi_Paradise I've bought A26, but got a problem. When I'm playing files 16bit 44.1khz via Roon - I can hear noise, the best way to hear it - put amp volume to 0 and I hear this noise, but in the same time when I'm playing file 96khz or 192khz - there is no any noise. And when Ipaused playback - there is no noise... Maybe someone already met with this problem? Any suggestions? PS I think R26 and A26 share the same platform for working with Roon...

The flash for my A26 from 1.4 to 1.43 failed. Can this be resolved? Now BubbleBNP can't find my A26 anymore :( Luckily still works fine as DAC

Hi why HQ player? Im using roon, and never try HQPLAYER whats hq can give me a speciality? With HQ always pc my run. Im have a Nuc + Roon, but hq must by installed on others Window's pc?

Yes, HQplayer can run on Windows PC, needs gaming PC like hardware. You can upsample to DSD or PCM and it sounds better than roon only.

will have some limited features if you don’t use it with HQplayer, as this is not Roon Ready.
