This song "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw" ("I Already Want To Let Go") is one of the most difficult OPM (original Pilipino music) songs. It demands a lot from the singer, in terms of vocal agility and emotions, it's a heartbreak song. And Morissette's rendition made it viral and trending in the Philippines. „Gusto ka nang bumitaw“ means „I want to quit/let go“ It‘s about a toxic relationship. In the beginning she is in despair, in the middle, anger and resolution get hold of her until in the end she finally decides to leave „bibitaw na“ (I am letting go now). Find the lyrics and their translation and the song is even more impressive!

Morissette has a great number of highlights in her career, of course many mention Akin Ka na Lang recorded in the Wish Bus when she was 21 (In Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw she was 26, she is 27 now) so she has an almost teenage quality to her voice but extremely powerful as always. There is her 2017 performance of Emotions (the Mariah Carey song that is considered very hard to sing) at the Asia Song Festival, for me her performance of Resignation in 2018 same festival is even more intense (she was 22 years old then) then you have the EP Signature which she composed herself (with the help of the man who is now her husband) with the songs Phoenix, Mirror, Trophy (interesting reggae style), Will You Stay, Love You Still. There is Undangon Ta Ni (written for her in her own language Cebuano which is related to Filipino but different, somewhat like Ukrainian and Russian are different but related) post-pandemic with a cool dance video. Also recent is her Bruno Mars medley released on his birthday last year - she is a big Bruno Mars fan. Older stuff is her covers of Never Enough and Rise Up, also on the Wish Bus. Softer stuff would be her with the band Sponge Cola, "So Close", her song "Colors Everywhere". From early this year there is a performance in The Loft with Troy Laureta, a sad romantic classic of her is "Naririnig mo ba" with a Wish Bus Performance and a haunting video. Truly one of the best Filipina singers. What I don't believe in is saying "the best" about anyone as there are several great Filipina singers each with different strengths: Gigi De Lana with her excellent covers but also a lot of rock (she has a duet with Morissette: "Toni Braxton medley"), Katrina Velarde, Regine Velasquez (who has a duet with Morissette "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw", and a Wish Bus Performance "Araw Gabi"), KZ Tandingan, Julie Anne Santos and more.. and among the men there are Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong who has duets with Morissette and Gigi, Sam Mangubat who has a duet with Gidget dela Llana (Gigi's original name) etc etc - enjoy exploring Filipino music!

I think the live band version is better performance than this wishbus the emotion while she sings and the pain through the lyrics of that song well interprated and explosion of her voice is so intense until the last part
