The raise in minimum wage means 35 years of work means nothing because that will make my wage and many others worth nothing. Minimum wage hikes like they want will mean "NO" tips because people will see the huge increase in prices and not be able to eat out, vacation, or afford essentials. Minimum wage is supposed to be for kids starting out, learning work ethics not to make a living on.

I've worked in restaurants since I was 18, and waited tables for close to 20 years. I don't agree with axing the tax on tips. Tips are income. If income is taxed, tips should be taxed. I've never begrudged having to pay. However, I DO begrudge the fact that banks don't consider tips, even if declared and taxed, income when evaluating a borrower. The government says it's income, the banks say it's not. Same with royalties and self-employment income.

Then she merges no taxes on tips with increasing the minimum wage. There hasn't been a federal minimum wage increase since 2009. Tipped employees are still paid $4.23/hr. That's how to get workers on your side. Trump didn't want to pay servers and bartenders more an hour on his properties.
