Just like 19 years ago, when Bill Cosby, as you put it, "became a nuisance to the Establishment" when he gave his "pound cake" speech before the NAACP in Washington, DC, during commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court _Brown vs. Board of Education_ decision; and afterwards when he gave talks in various places where he gave a message urging people in the Black community to straighten up, fly right, stay in school, etc., etc. And the establishment truly had it in for him after that. That there was a degree of racism in his being pursued as he was, can be summed up in just two words: Roman Polanski. Who to this day is still venerated in Hollywood.

I also find it questionable how all the accusations over the last few years are alleged incidents that happened before mass surveillance (although you know intell knows the truth) so that one could prove themselves innocent. Knew it was coming? This is an old story. These four women told their story and it was published in 2014. The reason it was published now is because the media outlet had been doing an investigation of the story pubished in 2014, and their investigation started 4 years ago. You know before Covid before they hated Brand? Not to mention, the one woman reported him in 2003 to the police. Not to mention he was already caught lying about picking the one girl up from school, but the BBC car service reoords show he did pick her up at school. Then you add in the fact he was reported to police as far back as the year 2000. Add in the fact that Danni Minogue said he was a sexual predator in 2006 in an interview. Add in the fact the one woman text him and clearly told him no means no, and was upset because what he did to her, and freaking out over him maybe giving her STD, and he apologized for what he did to her.. I believe the women in this case.

Years ago I was a volunteer child advocate while I was attending nursing school. An abusive foster father once accused me of being inappropriate with a 10 year old boy. Not only did it devastate me, but after they removed me from the case (they knew I was innocent and gave me more cases), that foster father locked that 10 year old up in a basement and abused him for 4 months before his older sister found me on Facebook and begged me to help him. I immediately informed the authorities and he was rescued. My point is, false accusations affect a lot more people than just the victim. All of those men who are falsely accused and their families are traumatized by it. It is shameful and disgusting. Imagine being a nurse or a mother or both, and you are accused of the most unthinkable act. 😢

1. I don't care for Russell's schtick (so I don't watch his show). 2. Accusations shouldn't be anonymous (knowing who is making the accusation is part of evaluating the accusation). 3. I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be one of those times when two things are simultaneously true. It's possible he did do these things, but it's also quite likely that these things are coming out now after all of these years are an indicator that the Woke left is coming after him for not carrying their banner. Tyrus said it perfectly. I was recently accused of a crime, and I was at the point that I had no money to pay a lawyer if it went to trial. Luckily, the charges were dismissed. However, I lost my teaching certificate (it will be reinstated), I lost my teaching job, and my reputation is permanently scarred due to the original newspaper article that outlined the charge as well as all of the information in the criminal complaint. Worst of all is the fact that the TItusville Area School District, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the local print and online news let the community know that my minor child was violated (not by me). Not only was my reputation ruined, but my child has to live knowing that people know things about her that they should not know.

Can you sue anyone for damages to your reputation? I would consider conducting an attorney (maybe one in a town close by so there isn’t any conflict of interest) and just see what they say. Just be aware that if they take the case on contingency (no fees from you up-front) they keep a very large portion of any settlement. Good luck. Laws need to be put into place protecting both men and women from 20 year old allegations by accusers. This is simply ridiculous and there are statute limitations in place for a reason. Whether their stories are motivated by greed, fame, revenge, or even if there are truths to it, there needs to be some reasonable timely response to law enforcement when the incident happens. If it did happen (which I don't believe for a second) these "victims" had DECADES to come forward, report it, or contact the police.

@@MimiJoys There are several laws in place against making false allegations. In court, it's called perjury (although rarely prosecuted in the UK otherwise lots of police officers would be in jail) and there are various criminal harassment laws and civil remedies for defamation of character. It's also covered by the offence of 'Conspiring to pervert the course of justice' in the UK.

Why don't more MEN come out DECADES later and accuse women of sexual assault? I mean, a woman's word is basically a weapon against men, being able to be used at any point in time. If a man accused a woman, would that woman be considered a threat to society and placed in prison for years - for something that happened 10-15yrs ago? This is getting crazier with each accusation.

Unfortunately, men are far less likely to report assault like this; even women have a hard time coming forward. I don’t care if a r*pist is a man, woman, or alien, prison is a must as you are a stain on society.

@@josephnolan8217 in the case of the rapes/attempted rapes/stealthing, this might be a bit tricky for you, but you have to use your very limited imagination and imagine yourself in the situation. You are one person who has no power or money, you have no knowledge of other victims, and you have to accuse a rich and powerful media figure of a crime. In fact, Brand threatened people with legal action if they tried to spread awareness of his actions. One girl contacted Brand's management team, just to let them know what kind of person they are working for, and was immediately met with legal threats and accusations of trying to blackmail money, when the only people who brought up money in that situation were Brand's lawyers. These kinds of crimes are tricky to get a conviction on in the first place if you are the only victim, let alone when your opponent is someone like that. It's more than likely the victim is who gets their life destroyed just for pressing charges in that situation. When you find multiple victims and can show a pattern of behavior, it becomes a different kind of situation.

@@josephnolan8217 Nothing happened at the time because (1) the allegations were insubstantial and unsubstantiated and didn't meet the standard of proof that a court would require, and (2) Because most of the women preumably didn't think that it was serious enough to actually make a report to the police.

@@josephnolan8217 incorrect, plenty more women had bad things to say about their experiences with Brand, the 4 reported on so far were the ones they could easily prove with a paper trail and other eye witnesses. Since the report has come out, more women have reached out with their stories, and those stories will be investigated as well.

@masachamp1597 Sure, investigate it all, but do women have no agency? Is there zero responsibility for them not coming forward and being brave to report to authorities? If it was so outrageous then why was nothing done? Did they want to sleep with a celebrity? Did they think they could be one to change him? Did they chase money, clout, fame? We as a society need to face difficult truths about women's hypergamy. The one women says they had consensual relationship before and after the alleged incident. She stayed with him and didn't feel need to press charges now 20 years later destroys his life.

Any time the entire machine locks arms and goes after someone with no actual charges, warrants, affidavits ... and includes the courts/parliament we should all be concerned. Social Media platforms/Influencers and "journalism" have been wrong far too often, and wrong for their own benefit and finances, without consequences.
