He is so gifted technically! Most people could only dream of his technique.... But it terms of does any of his playing have emotion to it you'd have to say not so much... It's super fast but is melodically lacking something.

@@creativeryan7557 listen to his playing on Drive Home or Regret Number 9, both by Steven Wilson. Guthrie definitely knows how to play with feeling and emotion. This video is really just an improvisational jam.

@@kerimcabbar7159 Man it's a 12 bar blues, anyone who studied a little bit of music could improvise without hearing the backing track first. And if you dig into some videos about Guthrie, you'll see he always improvises, always with this astonishing quality.

@@AlexiOpethKakko yeah ofc backing track is straightforward 12 bar but what he plays cannot be recorded just at the first hearing and first take. I have heard zillions improvisations on 12 bar blues. None of them had this ideas , virtuosity etc. combined.
