I hate how they actually tease us by showing really beautiful 2d art mixed in with the crappy cg, that's like a giant slap to our face,if you have the ability to animate this beautifully in a beautiful art style then why do you choose to do this crappy CGI, seriously I don't even know why

@VDLS yeah but you gotta agree they flash us a beautiful 2d art style and animation only to shove shitty cg in our face that just seems kinda lazy,and don't get me wrong I may be a 2d purist at heart but even I can admit when cg is a damn good medium,beaststars,goblin Slayer (that one 360 scene),god eater,hell even the three golden age arc movies are a gold standard of what berserk needs to be,it just seems lazy compared to the other adaptations, the only upside I can give the berserk 2016 and 2017 adaptations is that they stayed relatively close to the manga,they stayed cannon,and they stayed relatively true to the storyline that's all that I can say for it

Zodd has also had hundreds of years to hone his skills and then you have Guts who's just a man.

Zodd behaved like that to save guts, not because he had a warriors code. But to show guts that unless he can beat him he isn't prepared for the new reborn griffith.

Yeah unlike many, Many shounen anime(and other) in Guts case it makes sance in nerative because he pushed his limits and masters a huge heavy swords all his life unlike other anime where they got stronger so fast because author is lazy and goes easy route

@@memeprez1281 exactly. With schedules now a days, it's just not doable. Not for a series as detailed as beserk. The art is too much for animators to work with time constraints. 3d animation like this CAN look fantastic. They used it a lot in the movies, it's used throughout the broly movie too and that movie is gorgeous throughout.

You can't have quality like this for such an important piece of art. The Golden Age films were fantastic, but when they decided to go 3D they honestly absolutely ruined it.

Zollyzzz |OPBR| it’s not just the animation, they messed up the story too. They skipped whole arcs just to get to the conviction arc, just to skip parts of that too. They somehow had time for filler tho. The animation is just insult to injury. There’s no use of rotoscoping, no real shading, nothing. They didn’t even let the scenes fully render, and that shit is so basic. All they had to do was wait a bit and let the computer do it’s thing.

It was actually true to the manga, and translated into animation very well (even if the animation itself was shitty). I've seen a lot of anime fights where you don't even know what's going on because of how bad the scenes were choreographed.

I am like 100% Sure Guts would be able to kill him with the Berserker armor on since Zodd's apostle form is a minotaur. He has very low mobility but is very powerful while Guts is both very, very fast and incredibly strong. Zodd would just not be able to keep up with him I think.

My problem is not, that their is violence and bad stuff happening, the characters are not getting any development besides bad stuff happening. Its boring and super bad writing. A character needs more than a tragic past and bad things happening to them, to be interesting or well written. Also berserk aint a classic. Only berserk fans consider it one. Everyone else either doesnt know or doesnt care. Something like Bleach , Dragonball (i hate it but its a classic fot sure) thats a classic. And its also superior to frickin berserk. Good shows dont need to rape every single character to make them develop.

Zodd respects strength (like when he call SK his friend) but he is forced to follow the godhands orders. what I love about Zodd is that he is a bad guy, he knows he is one, but he doesn't like being one. And even though he only want to fight and to find someone able to kill him (a thing even SK never managed to do), he never tries to justify the bad things he does.
