Yup people who call him a bum are just casuals. He’s the type of vet you want on your resume. Yuri Gamboa is another example. Plenty of tough fighters like that. Claggett lost 7 fights of his 47+ fight career and won the past 8 fights in a row previous to this one and casuals think that’s a bad record lol
@@BabyKobeeee its not about who he beat - its about how he fight - he showed more heart more dedication and put on a show better than tank/shakur or even haney - guy took lopez big shots and stayted on his face for 12 rounds - he could give trouble to any fighters and i cant wait to see his next fight
Claggett was blocking a lot of those punches and the ones that were hittin him he took like a champ. The better man won but Claggett definitely needs some respect put on his name
@@mitch20003 hes actually very good a bad boy. not like he isn't good or had been loosing. he won his last 9 fights and 7 by ko. he's a bad boy!! strong, good chin, and durable. rolls and turns with shots. good faints knows how to move his head behind the high guard. crafty fighter. has a gas tank on him. decent power. and faster feet than it looks 3rd person.
he is well known in my city of Montreal , he has an iron chin and the cardio of a tri athlete and a big heart , I knew Teo was not gonna get rid of him
Definitely closer than the judges gave him credit for. This guy is a warrior with a unique skill set. Much respect, will be tuning into his fights in the future.
I never heard of this guy until Teo fight but he is definitely gonna be one of those ones… It’s something about losing to one of the top guys that sparks a new level in them and they become great.
Guys like Claggett in the gym never take a break, and always make you look bad. Honestly If a guy is out throwing you by 40 punches a round its because you are not leading effectively. Teo was a bit uncomfortable out there and was geting hit by simple jabs and had to re set up distance , he showed us how easy he can be hit after he throws and stands and poses in the pocket. Props to Claggett who used a stlyle of pure pressure to hide his at times awkward style and at times looked like not very athletic skill set. Love the not sitting between rounds cause you never do it at the gym . He just woke up the sport to being in shape for a fight should be,,,,never ever be to tired to throw.
A lot of us were like Clagett, who !?? Who’s THAT!? Great Job.. teo should have been able to knock you out.. Steve you did an excellent job though! Good fun fight to watch Congratulations!!
dont be a fool and follow media hate and propaganda. This fight wasn't meant to be a easy win. teo actually takes fights he can possibly loose. shows you didn't know who claggett was before the fight. and you don't have to but if you did you wouldn't have such silly comments. and hes actually very good a bad boy. not like he isn't good or had been loosing. he won his last 9 fights and 7 by ko. he's a bad boy!! strong, good chin, and durable. rolls and turns with shots. good faints knows how to move his head behind the high guard. crafty fighter. has a gas tank on him. decent power. and faster feet than it looks 3rd person.
Claggette got my respect, not only for his performance, but because he's a humble guy. The commentator (to me) asked him a trick question " do you think you won the fight " knowing that the judges and likely the public had Lopez winning nearly every round. Claggette is sorta a modern day Aurturo Gatti, a blood and guts warrior, but the sad thing is those kinda fighters often have to be saved from themselves!
This was not a war nor was itva slugfest. Clagget missed 90% of his punches and spent the whole night getting countered losing EVERY round. This fight was similair to Toney vs Barkley or Bud vs Advanysan.
Claggett deserves another big fight. Matias or Cruz would be fireworks! If Zepeda goes up to 140 a fight with Claggett would be incredible. Claggett did himself proud! Im about to move to Calgary and Im glad to know we have fighters like Claggett over there 👊
He survived where many people thought he would get Ko’d. They definitely robbed him with his punches landed and blocked. Respect to Steve. Yyc represent!!! Made an entire country and city proud!!! 💯🇨🇦
@@jungen1093he’s not saying that, he’s saying that the he was robbed of punches landed and blocked. It was way lower on the official stats than it should’ve been tbh
Defense was solid, the jab work that kept Lopez on the ropes was incredible, if only a few of those right hooks connected the outcome would have been different.
My hats off to your performance- a little more training and your going to be scaring these so-called champs “for wanting to fight,my boi ! You are a warrior in the making
I dont think other champs at 140lb division would give clagget another title shot like teo did. He should fight asap because the mans aging. Clagget bring the fight to teo, great fight, great experience. Sometimes its not about the knockout wins that helps a fighter grow, its about testing theirselves into the deepwaters, building up that mental fortitude. Remember paulie malinaggi back then, he doesnt have knockout power but he had chin and heart, he beat guys like juan diaz, zab judah, fighters that had more knockout wins than him and a great finishers. He went to distance against prime cotto with a broken wrist and it looks like his jaw was broken at that time. 🥊💯🔥 Need to see clagget fighting other champs or former champs, try regis prograis but too bad hes in a different promotion hard to make that fight happen
