My rescue cat was 4 yrs old when I brought her home. She hid under the couch 3 days then came out and jumped on my lap. She was coming out while I was sleeping during those 3 days. She played fetch for the first year I had her. Now she has me trained to fetch.

You love them just the way they are I have found in Rescue kittys my whole life I am 61 years of age I have found my reflection of love in those who have found me🕊

My cat grew up on the streets. I lured him into the house with food and play. The rescue I took him to said he was 2-3 months old. Now he's nearing 2. He adores me and follows me everywhere but it wasn't until recently he sat on my lap for the first time. I was tired but I stayed up for another two hours just to bask in that glow. It can take ages but there's nothing like earning the trust of an animal

Trauma is hard to overcome. With cats, you earn their trust. Fawn and Arya are precious cats. Am thankful the gentleman adopted them. Love is all that matters.

Why can't there be more kind and generous adopters, like this guy in the video? There are so many sweet struggling cats and kittens (besides dogs and pups) that need homes. Animals offer great companionship and enriches people's lives too.

7 weeks ago, (49 days), I adopted a poor misunderstood Tabby chap from Blue Cross in the UK. It was expected that he would not come out for at least a week, probably a month. He was actually out on the 2nd night :-). He made his own decision on where he considered his "Safe Space," picking the conservatory over the room I had prepared for him, he pretty much introduced himself to my other 3 cats, and is now one of the family. He came from a house with 10 other cats, and he LIKES cats. He just didn't understand people! It took 15 days before I heard a Meow from him, 21 days for him to accept a soft Brush between the ears, and by 30 I could stroke him by hand. I have not tried to pick him up yet, but your story gives me hope that he may become a lap cat yet :-). It is OK if he doesn't, but I think he has it in him! It has been interesting watching him watching US, learning from the other cats how to interact with me. He is also intelligent, opening drawers and wardrobe doors on his first night! He had in fact been placed once before, but he was returned after a month as he did not fit :-(. I suspect that they had no other cats to keep him company. I think he likes it here though :-).

So many people just give up when the cat or dog isn’t what they wanted or needed..a true animal lover just loves the animal and stays and works and accepts the animal for what it is and provides care.
