When a grown man loves a tiny kitten it melts my heart.

My cat is also named Nala. I didn’t name her, she had been neglected and then abandoned by her first family. She was super skittish, wouldn’t eat unless she was hand fed, and never left her bed. I knew when I saw her that she was mine. When we got home she hid for a few day but by day 4 she was sleeping with me, eating normally, and playing. I’ve had her for 2 years now (she just turned 4) and she’s my little love bug.

This video just came recommended on my feed. At the time of the original release I was at an unexpected crossroad in life and had to radically change my life and future. I ended up in a skoolie with my dog and an abandoned kitten. A few months later I adopted another kitten abandoned by the highway. 2 years later we are doing great, we have helped multiple kittens find homes and helped others along the way. The dog and the 2 cats are my favorite family. Life is good. 😊

I wasn’t a cat person until my girlfriend persuaded me to get ONE, we went to see a friends newborn kittens and much to my surprise came home with 2. After not wanting them in the first place I fell in love with them, named them Scotch and Soda and when my GF and I split, my only concern was the custody of the cats. My ex, bless her couldn’t bear to separate them and because Scotch in particular had bonded so much with me, she let me keep them both. They both lived 19 years and were amazing companions.

There is nothing more magical than when an animal chooses you. My pitbull boy Jaeger was in the shelter for his entire life (almost a year, he was a month shy of his first birthday which is when they were going to put him down since clearly no one wanted him), he was quiet, he was subdued, he just was kind of laying on the concrete with no desire to move. And then I saw him and he saw me and picked his head up. Just a little bitty bit of recognition. So I sat down on the floor in front of his kennel and he came over and sat next to me on the other side of the bars, just licking the life out of my hands and fingers. I wanted to be thorough in my search for a dog, so I left him there for about two weeks, but I visited him every other day or so, took him for walks, did some basic training. By the third visit, it was a done deal. All he had to do was hear my voice in the lobby and all of a sudden you'd hear this massive WOOF, and I'd go back and he'd be clambering against the cage, whining and pawing and licking and just wiggling his whole body in the way that pitties do. This dog went on to save my life. He took down a mugger on one of our nighttime walks. The guy had a knife and my boy did get slashed but it was not serious, the dude was arrested, like... it was straight out of a fairy tale. But he chose me, he chose me, and he was not going to let some punk with a knife undo that choice. It is seriously magic, something just out of this world, I don't have the words to describe it. Always rescue. They will rescue you right back.
