The last member of the big three get's honored at the Bell Centre. Savard, Lapointe, Robinson... exactly where they belong. These men are legends, and we will never forget the good times you've brought the city of Montreal. Thank-You
For those who will eventually ask, the name of the tune is "Homeland" by Hans Zimmer (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron OST). Every time I listen to this tune and remember all past jersey retirement ceremonies with the Habs, I feel goosebumps. I don't think any other sports franchise can do this kind of special occasion any better.
Les Canadiens know how to do these things better than any sports franchise. Right down to the Robinson (#19) and Savard (# 18) banners, already in the rafters, being dropped down to meet up with Lapointe's banner (#5) on its way up, and then they ascend together. The greatest defense triumvirate in the history of the NHL. And we shouldn't expect them to ever be equaled, not with 30 teams in the League now. Man, those three were dominant. Career-wise, a total plus-minus for the three d-men of +1519. Nuts.
