And funnily enough OpenBoosters pulled the ‘only’ decent Legends card I’ve seen pulled from Dominaria. A little bit convenient for WotC’s publicity machine don’t you think. I call shenanigans.
I pulled a tabernacle 2 days ago. Believe me or not. I almost cried and my girl thought I was dieing. I’m thinking about sellling it or keeping it. I’m so excited. I never thought I would own a card this expensive.
Advice is get rid of it and buy revised Tropical Island, Volcanic Island, Underground Sea, and Tundra. You'll still have some money left over if you don't get screwed. Edit: If you already have true duals just keep it or sell and put the money in savings. Dual lands are much more playable and much cooler to see imo.
It was my Dream Card, I finally bought one when I came into some money. I am happy to own it and will keep it, in hope that if the world is still functional 10 years from now, I will sell it. I currently use it in my Angus Mackenzie Commander Deck. Love the Tabernacle Art. Really.. I would hold if you still have it, seeing as how prices on them have come down thank to Legends getting released back out into the Wild.
Years ago I got a tabernacle including other legends in a collection for $120 and an ice coffee. Sold it all for afew grand at my first GP and even got top 8. Was a good weekend but crap I look back at how much more value I could even get.
I mean, its all about relative value. You sold it for that high value back then, and had the money in hand. If you held onto it until now, you're talking about not getting that money and waiting on speculation. In my opinion, it's what you did (and were able to do) with the money that matters more. Today, like nonlamesniper said, value of the dollar is worth less these days. So you might've just flat out broken even.
EV means expected value. EV in statistics is just another term for "average." EV in the case of booster boxes is simply the dollar value of a particular box on average. It's calculated by multiplying the probability of each of pulling each card in the set by the dollar value of that set and adding each of those dollar values up.
That dip was likely due to the extreme low volume moving, one sold somewhere super low (ebay snipe or trashed card likely) and pulled the average down for that period of time.
I probably wouldn't believe what I'm about to say either but I opened a collector but last night(9/24) and pulled a tabernacle. I actually didn't even know I pulled it because I usually put all the commons from the front in a pile because I expect that the good stuff is in the back. Apparently not. When I was sorting I found it. I didn't passout but I couldn't stop shaking lol. Didn't think it was possible but here I am. Make sure you look through your commons! Good luck to all.
Post a video, prove it, i have been wanting to actually see one that got pulled, if you upload it and you already have it it'd be a $4000 bluff so I'd believe it
The idea that I spend $300 and the big hit is an Emerald Dragonfly 🤦♂️ that would feel terrible. I just went and bought a bunch of legends singles I needed instead.
The dip happens because the only available cards for sale are down that low. probably not that many for sale so most likely the only available one at that time was damaged
I was subbed to this channel before u made the quartering, I unsubscribed to the quartering because I didn’t like politics anymore but forgot I was subbed here :) glad to see you post on MTG without politics, thanks j
At this point, I'd rather send a deck list and buy the exact cards I need for my deck. I can get a decent commander deck for between 50 and 100 dollars.
When I first started playing mtg in early 95, legends was already a big deal. The LGS I went to as a kid used to have tournaments, and winners got a single pack of Legends...thats 27 years ago!!!
When Legends was released the LCS each got ONE box, and customers were limited to 1 pack each for $5. I wonder if Wizards purposely held back this set. It was a game changer in the summer of 94.
legends cards are in the common slot in the front 5-6 cards in the pack. Rudy (Alpha Investments YT channel for those that don't know) opened 2 so far in a video.
YES KEEP GIVING US THE MTG TEA!!! i bet when you logged into this account for the first time recently at that same time jeff hoogland is waking up from a nightmare in a cold sweat! lmao
The Legends boxes kinda seemed sus to me....... I mean, finding complete containers full of unsellable Fallen Empires makes sense, they exist. But Legends...........
Glad your back with us in magic Jeremy. This is absolutely fake. That tabernacle looks like a counterfeit anyway. I have plenty of near mint legends, the dark and antiquities and non of them are that colorful and shinny.
Genuinely thought this guy got canceled by all the haters in the community, glad to see he's back, one of the ogs if you ask me. Welcome back cheif, hope you stick around "Rudy knows why" quotes like this are why I missed this guy
Ok come on Collector boxes are around $250 not 300 and that's about the going price at the start of a set for collector. Boxes normally start between 220-240 this is the first set since the price increase to stores and distributors that's more of why these boxes are the price they are not the legends card because it is about a 1 in 3 boxes for a single legends card to show up.
How is the box selling for 50k plus but the cards are worth 25 cent. Mtg community that just don't make sense. Honest question has anyone sat and thought about this?
The Legend cards replace a "common" (its still fake obviously, to make the video, if its not, the guy made bank so who cares, fake or not, basically the same result in video form). ---- The "drop" in the price chart can be because a bunch of sales are from high graded copies, which are substantially more expensive, and then a Light played or worse copy goes for tremendously less money, as there are not that many sales of that expensive cards at all times, the chart is not perfect. ---- And they are from a old warehouse that did hold the boxes because WotC did offer a "replacement" back in the days, as they printed Legend in (Legend A , and Legend B, so literally halve the set in each of them), so if you knew you had Legend A but you want Legend B (as it has more value potentially) you could send it in to WotC and they replaced it for you with the other box. That was a production issue for Legend, so to full-fill the "promise" of exchanging boxes for the other, they had to keep a bunch of them in some warehouse and as the unprofessional clowns they are, that stuff just sit there forever, till now, when the warehouse closes for whatever reason and flushed out all the stuff that was stored there (and WotC payed the bills and all, so nobody really cares until the Warehouse literally called them they cant hold their product anymore). So thats the story behind the entire thing.
To be fair about your argument of 447 I am one of the few people who actually do by boxes just for the simple fact that we like to pull cards.. I grew up in the era where the internet it wasn't prevalent and you actually had the pool everything you wanted for your deck.. I do agree with you though no one should ever spend money on just trying to randomly pull something with luck.. inside figure out what's the most viable card out of each side grab as many as you can and see what's meta relevant so you can flip it on the spot.. good videos spot on Cheers..
Nice! First time I watched one of your videos was on this channel. Cool to see u do another vid on MTG. But yeah, I don't like what wotc is doing. They are really abusing their customers.
I love cracking packs, for fun. On 3-10€ boosters I know I'm going open somewhere between 50% to 120% ev in the long term so when I buy a 100€ Booster box I know I will have at least 50 back and the other 50 pay for the fun of cracking the packs and playing some kitchen table magic with them. BUT! 25€ gamble boosters that contain from 0 to 100€ ev on them? For 25€ I can play the lotto 10 times with a very small chance on hitting one of the 3 highest prizes wich usually are 1st ~50 million € 2nd ~800k € 3rd ~6k € So why would I gamble on ultra expensive MTG products over lotto?
Our local card stores up here in Canada just put out a new wave of sealed double masters and dominaria united. The video is staged and the pack was opened before hand
That is my short, that is my LGS where i live in Italy, the owner film it,I linked the original complete video where they open the pack, everyone know the lost Legends slot is the 4th card of the pack they start to make noise before hoping there was a Legends card in the 4tg slot of the pack, the video is legit i know the giy who pull the tabby he is home with a new Tabby regerdless of what everyone "think" No hard feelings you do you,the video is legit even if you think it's not It was an amazing moment for us to witness and talk about it
Wish you were more accurate in your summary. There are a 5 cards over 1000$ another 20 150-700$ and pack fresh is going to carry biggest chance for grading premium. My opinion is video is real.
The LEGENDS card is always the 4th slot. But yes, this 100% seems staged. But you would know if it wasn't foil, then it is a LEGENDs card. But like you said, he started celebrating before he even saw any of the 4th card.
Hopefully getting a big payout (well for me) in the next few weeks, I'm going to go ham on some Magic products. I hate giving Wizards money, but I'm an addict.
Might very well be faked. But regarding the slot, as far as I've seen over many different unboxings, it seems to have been pretty consistently been in the 4th common slot. Some do say they appear in any of the common slots, but I have personally not seen a legends card appear in any other slot than the 4th common.
