Our mic broke during this filming session! (so we had to go with a spare handheld mic). The positive - it made Sam's conversation clearer. The negative - Dan wasn't as clear. Let us know if you noticed and what your thoughts were on the better sound for the client in the chair!

Wow! Just gave my husband this haircut and he is over the moon. This is his exact hairline, color, and texture. It's pretty similar to the cut I usually give him, but I never knew how to keep the top longer and actually blend it in nicely with the shorter back and sides, so his usual cut is a bit school-boyish. This was so helpful and we are both very happy. He looks like a young Matt Damon, and I keep catching him sneaking peaks at himself in the mirror. Thanks for sharing this video.

Ciclopea2 its becouse hes receding. hairdressers always kind of struggle a bit harder. And the reality is if they cut it too short then they cant cover the bald bits, and if they leave it too long then hes harldy did anything to it, so its hard for them, becouse they cant just give you extra hair to hide your bald bits. And in this video he knew he had to get that hair line perfect down to the last milimetre

As a customer i'm aware of the amount of work and skill it takes to do it just right, not just go for something like a comb over that makes it obvious that you're trying to hide your bald spots 😬

Those are the sharpest scissors i have seen. He wasnt even cutting parts of his hair as in snipping it cut he was just slicing it cut with 1 half of the sissor as if it was an open razor, great tools, great barber he never fails.

If your hair is always splitting you can use any type of shit on your hair, but the fact is that the splitting indicates you need to get a decent haircut, going right down so that the hair is unable to split anymore. It's always going to do that whatever product you put on it. You need to recognise where you and your hair are right now.

Hey Dan, how do you decide whether a palm-to-palm scissor sides is better than horizontal scissor over comb? I always find the vertical sections easier to do so it tends to be my go to but what are the situations where horizontal scissor over comb is better?

@Regal Gentleman Great Job Dan! I have a concern with getting my hair cut based on the way it grows out. Its fine blonde straight hair but my roots grow straight out, I would love shaved sides and back but my hair stands straight out for about 3-4 cm before it starts to lay flat on the sides. I haven't been to a salon in over 4 years as the only hairstylist I ever thought understood my hair moved away. Do you have any tips or vids about straight roots? I appreciate your content and this has my itching to get a hair cut. Thanks.

Dan has actually said in some of the videos before that he just goes wherever he can find. He's not actually very fussy about his own hair - for a barber haha. When he gets time he visits local barbers where he lives (Liverpool) usually. Has never cut his own hair himself either!

Lots of texture. That will help with very straight hair to get movement into it! The thickness will depend how much texture you can put into it, but ask for texture

Epic fail! Ok, am I the only going “NOOOOOOOO!?” This guy had beautiful hair with a somewhat hidden receding hairline. The longer style fit his face & looked appropriate for his age. Now he looks 10+ years older & you can see how thin & receding it is. Yes, Dan is a magician but not every guy needs to go shorter. More manageable? Maybe, but he had a great full head of hair. Perhaps he should’ve lost the beard & left the hair alone? Now, THAT I’d like to see!
