Jamun also known as java plum. Doungs also known as Jujubes, Guyanese popular tropical fruits.Fruit picking in Florida.. Background music from you tube audio library: Sweetly my heart by Asher Fulero
So nice to see how peaceful Guyanese are outside of Guyana sharing their interests in the simple things in life. I am a retired Guyanese in Canada and for the past few days been watching many of the interesting and enjoyable RU-vid videos done by Guyanese, including this one. God bless
recently I just found out that I own 10 Jamun tees (huge) in my backyard (5 acres) jungle and I am thrilled. I am in SW Fl and I will be growing lots of fruit trees from seeds and flowers and fish in my pond. I enjoy ur video so much

I just found your page and it is very inspirational. I am in Orlando and did not know so much could be grown here like back home. Time to get started on my yard
Omg! I have not seen any of those fruits in years! My mouth is watering here Ifeel like I am tasting them. So true I love living in Florida as well. No more snow to shovel. Thanks for sharing your wonderful videos with us. ❤❤❤ and light!
This video is a real teaser for me, because all these fruits are memories of home. Hopefully I can get invited to visit this yard...lol. It's a long drive from NY, but I will fly when my friend visit NY, so I can take him on a trip to Disney.
Very beautiful garden. It’s a treat to watch and watch again. I visit Orlando frequently. Would I be allowed to see your awesome garden one day? Keep posting those beautiful videos. It’s like therapy to see such beauty. Stay beautiful and blessed.
Just want to say thanks for posting these videos. If I wasn't convinced before that moving to Florida was the right decision for me, after watching a few of your videos, I wish I was already there!!! Your videos make me long for home.
Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel. I can totally relate to you. I used to feel the same. Wishing you good luck in all your endeavors.
Hiii! I was watching another gardening video where they referred to dungs as jujube and they say its ripe or mature and ready to eat when it's red and dry. It's also called Chinese dates...i thought it's interesting to share with you :)
Thanks for showing the lovely Jamun . If possible I want buy Jamun. I know Jamun is very good for treating various types of diseases .I also live in Orlando , Florida. Please , if I can get your contact , I Will be very grateful. Thanks.
Thank you so much.. This video was last year and it did not bear as much fruit this year.. I have not seen this selling anywhere. Indeed it is a very nutritious fruit. Again thank you so much..
Hi, thanks for the video. Would jamun tree grown in San Jose, California bear fruits? Weather Is not too hot here. It’s been 5 years that the tree is growing but no fruits. I have been trimming the tree from top so that it doesn’t grow more than 8 feet? Also I have 3 plant entangled, Hope that’s not an issue? Please send your comments/Suggestions for above. I have been waiting to get Jamun fruits and hope it comes soon.
Hi Manish, hopefully it will give fruit soon. Some trees will take up to 7 years to bear..This tree is from my sister's yard and I have to tell you that after the second year of producing fruit it suddenly died right after winter. So sadly this tree is no more. I wish you well and I do hope you get fruit soon..
WOW, amazing and looks delicious. I am from south asia and love jamun so much. We travel back home just to eat Jamun. I grew from seed in north carolina but it didn’t survive here. Is your tree bearing Jamun fruit right now. And JuJube looks amazing. Do you have jujube tree bearing fruit right now as well. Thanks for amazing video!!!

Hello, We live in Florida as well (winter garden) . You have some really nice trees. We also plant a lot. We recently planted something call whitee. Not sure if you call it the same thing. It’s still very small but hopefully in a few years it will start to bear. My wife has a lot in a pot so if you like a tree let us know 😀. Keep the great videos coming. By the way I think its so nice you have your family so close.
Charman Rickheeram, thank you so much. I know what you are referring to. We call it paddu. Last time I had that is when I went back for a visit in Suriname. It will bear, just keep caring it. Thank you for offering us one. My yard is not so big and I still have some other plants I want to put down. Winter Garden is not so far from us. Always nice to connect with other Guyanese families. Stay Blessed.
@@HomeawayfromHomeNadi . that’s right it called paddu as well. I knew there was another name. Just couldn’t remember. We have a tree in our back yard and it’s about two or three years old. We just could not figure out what it was until we seen one of your video. It was a soursop tress just like yours. The size and shape of the fruit threw us off. Hopefully next bearing we will get some soursop. Take care and we look forward to your next video.
Wow your garden fruit selections are so beautiful and yummy fruits. I live in Arizona the warmest state in the USA. I grew 2 jamun tree from seeds 4year old at 10 feet tall but never bear any fruits. What kind of fertilizer did you used to bear fruits? Perhaps I can get a few of your scion? I will pay for your shiping and stamp. Someone in az grew this tree 25 years, have no fruits either. What kind of jujube tree is that? It is still green. Need to wait until brown or red to harvest?
I somehow missed your comment..sorry.. Thank you so much. Your jamun will bear fruit hopefully next year. they usually do on the 5th year. No fertilizer was used on the trees. The jujube tree is the Li or Ziziphus variety. I just like it when its starting to turn yellow..Have an awesome weekend..
I love jamun, my sister has a jamun tree 🌲 in Kissimmee Florida’s. That’s the only time I get to eat it, when I visited her. Are you planning on making jamun wine 🍷 in the future 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾
Hi Vake, never tried making it before.. maybe will try this year when in season..Kissimmee is not so far away from me.. Thank you so much for your continuous support..❤️❤️🇬🇾🇬🇾
Oh my Gods that is loaded and I only wish I have one tree and fruiting like yours. I recently bought a $35 Jamun tree from an Indian nursery in Apopka and I hope it will fruit up here in Palm Coast, FL. I/we all love Jamun fruits. When I were young in southeast Asia, all the children would be up in these Jamun trees grown wild in the rice fields and edge of mountains! What size tree did you plant it and how many years before it fruited?
I can relate totally. Growing up in Guyana where I am from we also used to climb the jamoon tree and pick them. My sister started this tree from seeds. it took 6 years before it gave fruits.
Greetings, I'm located in Ocala and enjoyed watching your videos. My husband would like to know where did you purchase the jamun and doungs plant? We're wanting to plant more fruit trees on our large property. thanks
Hi Silvana, thank you.. the dongs plant we got from the flea market in Orlando. The Jamoon was planted from seed.. I do have a Jamoon plant. It’s small and I have it in a pot. If you want anytime you come in Orlando you can pick it up.. I don’t have space to plant it.. let me know..
@@HomeawayfromHomeNadi that's so ironic, i was telling my husband that we can probably get some of the plants at a flea market:-). thank you sooo much for your offer. I'll contact you when i can pick up. Have a bless day
@@HomeawayfromHomeNadi Thank you for the fast response. Let me know when you get some and the plants. If you on Instagram I can contact you there as it more private.
Hi Mary, I am having some problems accessing my email.. I have to reset my password. It’ will take a couple of days for verification. I don’t know if you have reached out to me or not. Don’t worry I do have you in mind to save you a Jamoon plant when it starts bearing..
