Cast please? I've watched several of these on RU-vid, and liked this one for the voices and stylized choreography. @TheSethwardpyatt The sets have a comic strip look, kind of like Dick Tracy. It very much fits with the stylized movements and dancing, kind of kitsch.
Did the set designer and director ever see ANY pictures of NYC? Or even bother to look at previous set designs from other productions of the show? Clearly this version IS NOT set in Manhattan, NY. (Maaaaybe Manhattan, KS.) Huge fan of this Big Jule, however!!
Three things about this production that kind of bug me. One is "Marry The Man Today" was taken at too rushed a tempo. Two is something that's bugged me about most of the more recent productions of "Guys And Dolls" -- not using the original ending for "Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat". I don't understand why the need was felt to change something that worked just fine the way it was. Three is Big Jule. Casting a woman in the role just didn't work, and came off like a cheesy gimmick.
dmnemaine what do you mean what was wrong with that number??oh nvm I did not see there hole thing yet lol sorry. 😂yep I agree the original one is better
Not all musicals are perfect! Actors, stage crew, props crew etc. try their best to make the musical the best it can be! Thanks for not saying it in a mean way though :)
@@Besherba I am not critiquing the actors, crew, etc. They did a good job with what they were given. I'm critiquing choices made for the production. The three things I mentioned were conscious choices made on the part of the director/artistic director/whoever, and weren't the best choices imo.
