Whenever I play duo hunters I’m either A) getting double teamed AND double camped and I die on my 1st chair cuz nobody bothers to rescue and support me (understandably) and they end up losing bc everyone dies too quickly and not enough people are decoding or B) stuck on decoding duty cuz nobody wants to decode and we STILL end up losing bc everyone dies too quickly and not enough people are decoding. Both scenarios always end up in a loss and I don’t even get the fun out of it cuz I either die to double teamers or spend the entire match decoding only for it to end up in a loss as well. So I’ve come to a conclusion that duo hunters is a pisshole of a gamemode and not worth my time and energy like at all.
What i hate most about duo hunters is that its almost replaced quick match cuz the wait times are literally 2, 3, 4 or even 5 minutes long. Still fun to play
Omg I remembered that game where the mary and ann duo refused to chair anyone and made every single person waste self heals and die from bleeding. They do realise that they not only waste their own time but like 8 other people’s as well? They got cooked in post match so at least that’s good 🤭
@@SilminaIDV cuz everyone was trying to heal each other and yk… play normally. As long as at least 1 person is on feet surrender button isn’t available ☹️ We ended up surrendering but at that point there were like 3 ppl left
I played in a QM game where that happened. When the survivors (rightfully) cooked the hunter post-match, hunter gave a very dismissive "you could've just surrendered to make the game end faster" before quickly leaving. I reported that hunter, don't know what happened to them
I still remember that one time I was a Luca and an Ann was after me, I looped her pretty well but soon she got me and chaired me, once she did she just constantly smacked me on chair over and over until death, in post game, I asked her “why did you smack me?” She said “you were a naughty prisoner” yeah…. This was a new one for me….
As a surv main, my fave are : Eversleeping town (like the most bc I can push someone to the tram) Leo's memo (many place to hide) Lakeside (lockers are op in this map) Moonlit (got double teamed too often here)
Leo's memory is HELL for hunters in duos until the survivors get too cocky about bullying the hunters and hand over free chairs bc they think they're invincible
The reason why those characters are banned from the mode is because of their abilities being categorized as “too broken” for 2v8. Joseph is a good example of this. The photo world basically allows him to make a photo image version of the real world and to do damage to survivors, forcing them to be downed if their photo selves got chaired. Having Joseph in that mode lets 2 hunters go into the photo world and can basically down every survivor before the first photo world collapses. Deeming him to be overpowered for the mode. It’s basically if the character’s abilities are too broken for anything beyond ranked/regular match making, they won’t be allowed to be played in Violent Struggle modes.
they're not allowed in the mode because they'd require a significant amount of effort to fix for the mode, gamekeeper and feaster are already pretty busted in duo and are left to exist like that, it would be no different for the other hunters - but actually adapting them for the mode is a headache to sort out and low priority presumably frankly hermit would be the weakest hunter in the mode by a massive margin + basically an instant 7-8 man endgame if actually linked ciphers, so that theory doesn't really hold up
It’s NOT a stress reliever after a rank session if anything I’ll come out of duo hunters even more stressed than from a rank match. Cuz at least in rank there’s no unfair uncounterable hunter strategies like double teaming. And in rank matches survs take the game ~a little~ more seriously and don’t purposefully throw because one of the hunters is a HoT CUte TwInK like ith*qua in a cute skin. I get that it’s a casual mode but like, nobody likes to lose. And when 95% of my survivor 2v8 matches end up in a loss bc either hunters double team and/or survivors throw… yeah 😬 makes me not wanna touch this mode anymore

One time I was playing Naiad on Duo and my partner was AFK, so I was on my own the whole game. I managed to kill 3-4 survivors, and when I went to the gate, the remaining 4 or 5 were there. I still remembered getting spawned LITERALLY just a few feet away from the hunter and the best part of that? Getting ganged up by the hunters ;;;;-;;;;
the only thing (and i mean ONLY thing) good about getting double teamed is that if you are able to kite them long enough, there is bound to be at least 3-4 ciphers popped easily. I was once playing a match as coordinator and when I got chaired, so many ciphers were popped at once lol. I've never been so happy when the hunters lost that match.
My love for this mode is beyond anything else, it use to be the only thing I played on IDV. And I love when I do a good kite and at the end of the match I find out the hunter is an S badge or famous in tournament😮 Like I seriously would not play QM or rank at all only Duos, im so happy the time for it was extended 💗💗💗
Also the amount of toxic hunters I’ve seen while playing this god forsaken mode is just sooo impressive. Like ok, u and ur stupid duo double ganged on me and the one kind soul that tried to rescue me got TSed on my chair cuz yall were double camping, and?? There’s no need to hit my chair and spam confused emotes and graffitis like calm down

Tbh i played duo hunters a lot recently and this mode is very survivor sided, if first 2 survivors kited first cipher it's pretty much over from this point because everyone bought perfumes and guns and now hunter will be harassed by 3~4 survivors. In my opinion is that most loses come from survivors' lack of seriousness while playing. So i understand that getting double teamed in the beginning is frustrating but it's a valuable strategy nonetheless
5:52 It's probably because they don't know how to make DW work in a 2v8 mode, would she get 8 followers? Photographer with his camera world for the same reason, can the other hunter go inside and also hit survivor copies? His slowdown would be insane as well. Alva because he's Alva. Clerk I'm not exactly sure why to be honest... And Percy because he can't pick up survivors, also his bleedout speed buff passive would mean that survivors left slugged on the ground would be almost as screwed as if they were put on a chair, and would Percy's effect where he makes downed survivors suddenly jump ahead in bleedout time also apply for downs made by his duo? Long story short, those characters are just too unique for the duo mode to handle with how they could make it unplayable either for power reasons or by literally bugging the match into next week.
My main problem on duo hunters when you are on chair no one will rescue until you die in game and when you help i have 90% chance they will change target to kill me 😭
I ended up liking duo hunters even more than quick match cuz i kinda like longer matches. (well, not insanely long like 16 mins +) i get to experience double the chaos and fun even if i ended up losing a lot in this game mode.
I was just playing Duo Hunters, and feeling pretty frustrated on being one of the first players to die for the millionth time, so this video came at a great time.
I would wager Joseph and alva also benched bc netease hasn't been able to retune their key abilities (photo world and cipher connections, respectively), to properly balance for duos especially Joseph, he has no more second line for the photo world stats keigan def for decoding time, plus I feel she would yet bullied harder than most hunters, her kit isn't strong enough for duos percy just would not play well with regular hunters given his unique mechanics and yidhra ... I honestly think that's more blessing for yidhra mains, bc holy heck, trying to manage 9 followers would SUCK, not to mention the necessary UI changes
That time when i brought Composer and kited hunters for 5 ciphers and no one rescue me on first chair. Or when i kited 2 hunters a time, and no one help me nor rescued me. C’mon, i’m not even Vera or Eli, i’m just a decoder with 50s cooldown prop.
One time, when i bought Merc’s gloves and placed it at the chaired survivor bcs i knew they didn’t have any items left (they said it on voice call with me bcs we teamed up), the other survivor who also want to rescue, namely Naib Subedar took the gloves???? (I wouldn’t blame him if he accidentally took the gloves by mistake, but he had gloves and a syringe, so that was mean he took it by purpose)
I mostly play hunter in 2v8 and my only problem is that hunters don't get enough points to buy anything after the first chase. It would be convenient and logical to have 4k points to buy at least 1 pill while the 1st chair is locked down, but you usually only obtain enough when the person is on the second chair, which has no lock, so you need to camp immediately and have no time to buy anything. Despite the 7 ciphers, they still go fast. Let's say 2 people are kiting and 2 people are supporting. There are still 4 people decoding, which means that not only do I have to chase someone with 3 or more hits, they also have someone supporting them, once again with 3 or more hits. I need 3 hits to unlock 1st presence, so while I'm no presence, they can just use up all their items and about 3 ciphers will pop by the time I get presence. Meanwhile, survivors can obtain a second item right at the start by opening a chest, with no points whatsoever. They get points for just about anything, too. As for the players and their behavior, they are unreasonably rude and they shame you for double teaming after being balloon rescued by 5 different people during the match. I just wish hunters got more points with more time to actually buy those buffs, I really have no other complaints.
Whenever I'm playing as hunter in Duos, I always discuss with my teammate of what we're doing before the game starts so nothing goes wrong And I would never double team unless the last survivor is left or one of us needs help Because double teaming is just unfun 😂 like I get doing it as a strat to win but damn I want the games to last longer, not quicker

Not knowing if my partner is AFK or not feels so bad for me like I’ll just be downing survivors for nothing. My record for eliminating survivors by my own in duos: Hell Ember. I managed to get two dead on chair. Breaking Wheel. Managed to eliminate one. They can’t bully me easy when I’m in my wheel form. Wax Artist: already eliminated one. I was going to try for two though when all cipher machines are completed and finding out my partner is AFK, I realize it was all pointless since I’ll just going to lose anyway so I just surrender.

Playing as hunter in duos feels like a God's exam of patience and benevolence for my entry in heaven, because i can't count on my mind the amount of silent hunters, they simply don't communicate and ignore the chat features, or choose the worst hunter option possible for that mode and calls you to help to catch a single survivor that's not being supported by any other, like seriously, on a game that gathers various survivors and cipher rush is crazier than ever, why would you choose for example a Nightmare!? Except if you master the character exceptionally is a terrible idea, speaking of wich, people seems to get characters they don't understand at the slightest to play, as a main Disciple, i'm honestly tired of those Nightmare, Fool's Gold or Night Watch that instead of leaving the camp to me, since Disciple is specialist in chasing and camping, they stand on the chair, where the odds of impeding a rescue is at max 0%, and tell me to patrol the map, like, "for real b1tch!?" Said that, i love Duo Hunters.
-Percy and Joseph not being allowed for 8vs2 gamemode i can understand since their mechanics are... "VERY FUN" and "UNIQUE" -Yidra i think is because... nobody want to see... 8 followers jumping 1 survivor and... a horde of followers standing around a chair using their hitboxes to preventing the survivor on chair from being rescue -But for Alva and Keigan ? why ? no seriously why ? Alva at full presence felt like he ISADE for this gamemode... and Keigan is not even that strong since her skills is often confusing for both the survivors and Keigan herself to uses but they still let hecking Ivy into 8vs2 so why not Keigan too ?
Also there this one time i was playing 8vs2 using Edgar but got downed then violated by Hastur while Mary just sorta... standing a few meters away and emotings with my teamates... meeting friendly hunters in 8vs2 sure is funs...
hermit would basically make you instantly lose (imagine your 60% damage attack being split between 6 survivors, 10% damage to their 150% health, completely useless) + i'll never understand people saying undead is 'unfun', you have total impetus on the ground fastcrawling on where to reposition/when to self-pickup/if he'll come for you or if he'll stay with you and there's a whole ocean of mindgames to play with it, yet when you're on chair you're permastunned in place and can do literally nothing - yet that's 'fun' in comparison?
there are a lot of main reasons why i hate duo hunters but ill just say 3 of em bc its gonna be too long, 1 being terrorshocked by one of the hunters like shadow, The upside down violin with the wig, etc etc(you get the point), 2 this happens to a lot of hunters, their teammate being afk or being friendly WITHOUT knowing(i do like friendly hunters but can you just not do it in duo hunter?),3 people just being toxic af in the chat telling me to switch to Someone else than LG but i usually don't listen, usually it's just in quick match but sometimes it's also in Duo hunters. I played duel hunter last night, i play as composer and my teammates kept losing with 3 escaped and 7 died because the last one was greedy or too dumb to read the chat: don't rescue play tie
I got paired 3 times in a row with the same guy... he went afk in a match... I really got angry, i managed to get 3 survivors. Like... I felt the bullying ahahaha... Also, i think it's hard to get paired if i go in duo with a friend because the waiting time can be more than an hour... and we just gave up... but yeah, somehow i manage to get pairedmwith the same guy 3 times. Also... I main Joseph and Alva xD i'm trying to get used to Ithaqua but what a pain those matches xD
@@SilminaIDV its very busted tbh. You can interrupt survivors while they are breaking the puppets and both hunters can check multiple objectives. Mad eyes can also locate dungeon and defend it from crowbar users with overclock mode (tier 2 ability)
all i'll say is if you queue for duo as a survivor and have a problem with being 2v1'd, you've made a mistake it's either an unfair circumvention of the healthstate extension survs get or the ultimate test of surv contain, depends on how you look at it, but it's part of the mode all the same
@@belchyra2451 drop the defeatist mentality and play better, i've handed surv teams in duo a 7-8 man endgame on a silver platter by being 2v1 chased right off the bat and taking 60+ sec to down
@@Evalora the way you're generalising... endgame is a lot easier to work with than at start when you have no items or potion boosts (like speed). If you get double teamed at the beginning of the match it's not fun at all compared to end game

bq is really weak in duo, C tier or so she's only got some saving graces on kill securing (i.e. camping out and finishing off the other hunter's much faster down off chair) which is presumably where your issue is though
im afraid of duo hunters because they always bring excitment and when they get pallet stunned and appear behind me i usually vault the pallet but i hear excitment and im dead via terror shock ;-; no harassers no stunners in game
wait before vaulting, you know excitement is a very common trait pick in duo, you know that if the pallet stunned hunter is on same side of pallet as you and you get the inclination to vault they can pop it and ts you, yet you don't try and bait the attack out by running into the pallet without vaulting question mark

It is definitely. Having a hunter that can't chair and that has another totally different form of killing would need some heavy tweaking. Would they make it so that survs can also die quickly on the ground? If so, would the killing stage pass to the chair? For example, if a percy killed a surv, they got picked up and another hunter killed and chaired them, would it start at half because percy downed them already or would it start from zero because it's the first time getting chaired? It's a little complicated to just toss him in there so they don't
i honestly dont know why survs get mad at double teaming if u win w that strat whats the problem. literally they hate it just bc it annoys them their only argument is bc if u chase 1 surv the hunters will get cipher rushed like okay then why arent u celebrating? i win with teaming and without just double teaming w my hunter friend on vc is more fun so i can actually see them when i dont team up i dont see them the entire game its just fun to work together playing alone is boring
Double teaming is beneficial for survs, yes. The only reason you’re winning at all as hunter in 2v8 is bc survs don’t take this mode seriously, not bc double teaming is a good strategy 😊
@@Veronika-ib4ok 2v1 for fast down into 2v1 for fast down into 2v1 camp into 2v1 camp is the highest winrate strategy for hunters in duo nobody cares about matches where survs automatically lose the moment they queue because they go in with the intention to throw, but for problem surv groups that actually want to win and blast 5-6 ciphers by the time first chairs are coming off lockdown, that consistently gets the best results
