Ryan Thompson Thompson Underpaid? I know £ and $ are different, but people in my country (England) make about £25,000 a year and that's if they have a respectable earning. 42,000 dollars doesn't seem all that bad now, does it?
Wages are determined by open market. More people available to do the job, wages goes down by itself. Less people willing to do a certain job, wages go up automatically. There is a supply and demand curve to it. Fighter pilots get paid 35 to 38k. Pilot instructors get paid $10 to $15 an hour. Same with tandem jumping instructor. They do the job, cuz they love it, and there is more competition to do it.
Cameraman never gets the credit they deserve even though they're doing the same thing and then some of whomever they're filming. 👍 Here is another awesome video showing how it was done back in the day. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7QCYDzsQ_yM.html
Doug Harper I’m not saying that the camera is not safely strapped in, MY POINT IS, the camera men in any tv show never get enough credit. Take this for an example, a camera man the worked for Live PD, or cops or one of those shows got shot and killed trying to film. All I’m saying, camera man and women don’t get enough credit. No need to argue.
@princesspumpkinpanty if i was a 5 year old maybe yes. Otherwise no one would think that. Its not even a serious comment. Dont take it so hard. But okay i understand
@@sean2015 None yet, I guess they haven't reached the heights of their ambition. But if that guy's daughter has her heart set on it, then it's bound to happen eventually.
I was a bridgepainter for about 6 years of my career as a union painter. There is something special about it, being up that high, where few people dare to go. But, knowing that others had been there before you, had built it and repaired it and painted it reminds you that humans can do just about anything, and that anybody can do this, if they put their mind to it. You have to set aside your fear of falling off the bridge, and replace fear with respect. A guy in this video is right when he says the day you stop fearing it is the day something bad happens.
My dad work in DOT as a Bridge Maintenance and I am so proud of each in every one of you! You are true Heroes and survivors! God bless you and thank you!
@@kxmode it's different than vertigo. I get vertigo but that's the room spinning from the inner ear. But Heights oh my God it's like it's like you can't move there's nothing under you you're going to fall
I’m kind of not scared of he final test where they have a net under but when they walk on those cylinders that’s when I wold panic. I’m scared of heights also
Bob Woodruff... Much Respect. After being injured in Iraq while reporting, this is probably a cake walk... He leans over the edge and shakes the worker's hand. Mad props 💓💓
I do roofing and show up drunk once or twice a week from the night before. Not the same heights of course but it’s really not too sketchy once you’re used to maneuvering around lol
Troopers!!!! These are guys are troopers and sound in great spirits. Just watching this vid in my big 70in tv I’ll think I’ll go change my boxers now....
I gotta hand it to these Men. They do a job that most of us WOULD NEVER DO. Myself included. You wouldn't get me up there, even if you paid me big money!! 😨😨😨
He has a valid point, feminists only want the cushy jobs not the hazardous ones. So who are the hypocrites not men because we don't complain we just get the fucking job done.
I worked for 806 DC 9 and worked on this bridge ! The red sidewalk on the Williams bridge :) the work of my hands and my co workers !!! God bless all of you guys ! Stay safe !!
i've got 25+ years in autobody painting and i take pride in my list of oddball things i've painted. i'm gonna leave this one off my list! more power to these guys!
They should show this to feminists who talk about " we don't need men" and"toxic" masculinity . This is masculinity , we should appreciate masculine men not shame them and call them toxic.Masculine men are the reason we are still walking on this planet.Men are awesome ..
That's seriously what you got from this? Come on now I can think of 10 guys I know that wouldn't do this in a million years. It isn't about masculinity it's about bravery and courage. Get over yourself
@@jacklauletta2789 All i hear is women saying " we don't need men, women can do exactly the same as men, and even comercials are jumping on the toxic masculinity bandwagon
@@ihave35cents95 same, I'd rather paint this than a house. Imagine waking up each morning and seeing the sights, that feeling of being far away and the peace also. Not exactly an average work experience.
I'm a painting contractor and I have been about 4 stories high painting commercial buildings, but thats my limit. These guys deserve every penny they make and more.
Purple Wave look up what prevailing wage is in Brooklyn and then in Washington heights not sure how that works since it’s a bridge. I know in most of Boston it’s 60 an hour. That’s non union. These guys are probably union making between 30-40 an hour with 15-20 an hour in there benefits package. Depending on how steady there work is I would say easily could be making over 100k a year.
Litterally my dad makes 120k from his business in water towers and bridge painting. And his business is still small. The biggest amount they made so far was like a check for 470k
LIFE JACKET AINT GONNA HELP YOU BRO OR SIS I DON'T ASSUME GENDERS MAYBE A PARACHUTE MIGHT HELP YOU BUT A HARNESS YOU KNOW LIKE THEY USE IN ABSEILING AND A NET BIGG TIME!!!!!!!! 😜😜😀
When the producer crouched and the interviewer shaked the other guys hand from the other side and the camera operator just walking up and down holding a big ass camera were freaking intense for being newbies
i go to the park in jersey all the time at 2:24 in between her back and harness. i love seeing this bridge. it's just beautiful and seperates 2 great states. love it how these guys are brave enough to walk above one of the craziest places to drive.
TJ Devereaux me too, I was literally shaking watching it...there's no way I would or could do this. Much respect for these guys for doing this terrifying job.
Damn am getting chills just by watching somebody walking on top of the bridge i can't even walk the stairs to the third floor props to these brave employees😣
Tato Batz they get paid millions per year, for climbing a bridge and painting it? What good does this do the world. If anything, doctors, cops, firefighters should get paid more, and they do. It’s fine how it is now. I understand if a businessman makes tons of money, but not some random painter

Jah Roos when does that come up in day to day conversation though oh yeah i wonder how many people actually give a bollocks about the paint on a bridge you could probably only see if you were passing by it on a helicopter 🚁 or aeroplane ✈ i hate illiterate people who call them airplanes

Proud to say a former manager of mine is now a NY/NJ bridge painter..i get vertigo just lookin at that classic pic of dudes eatin lunch on the beam 😵😵😵
Brexit Is Fucked up I know! It’s stupid how women get angry at men even though everyday we do stuff that they can’t do! More men die than women that’s one fact
Alexgrand 707 That’s not true, women can do dangerous jobs like these, we just choose not to because if women did dangerous jobs like these, who would be there to keep the population of species from extinction. Know Your Facts First. Smh 🤦🏾♀️
Mikaela Phillip but without men you wouldn’t have baby’s, but wait? The men don’t give a shit and still do the job, if you want to start talking shit, stop feminism
