Patch changes were pretty great for burn DH! We went from 2 stacks of 2s burning on eternal armory to 1 stack for 4s, which was the only nerf. Indirectly this build was buffed by the removal of antitoxin runes and lowered cleanses from firebrand.

To capitalize on the loss of cleansing, try getting as much burn duration as you can with vipers and trailblazers. You can use a smoldering sigil in place of torment on your scepter set too if you want to build it that way, though it's less reliable.
If you are having problems surviving, try swapping vipers pieces out for more trailblazers. Or practice chaining together blocks, evades, and litany of wrath. Whichever =D

Hi Risen, after your DH videos. I was inspired to play it too. Can you explain the reasoning behind getting more burn duration? You said something about "capitalize on the loss of cleansing"? Do you mean that the other group used up all the cleanse already so we want to max the burning?

the patches after this guide was created lowered the base burning duration of permeating wrath to 1.5s, maxing your duration gets you to 3s burn durations. Conditions in wvw are dependent on the enemy team's ability to cleanse, so generally you want to shoot for 3-5s durations depending on how many cover conditions you can apply. Right before this guide was put out they removed antitoxin runes from the meta which almost halved the amount of cleansing available to each group, that's what i was referring to =D

Omg, i was sooo sceptic about your build but when i saw gameplay... especially fighy at 9:30, where u almost soloed the 15 man group XD, Just asewome. I d add gs as a 2nd weapon anyway, and switch ur wall of reflection to port thingy, cuz ur setting is more like for roaming, not blob fights ;p

Same rotation, just easier to place staff 2/3 and 5 doesn't have as large of an impact

The weapon sigil of fire does apply the burning from the passive? Like a new strike? I'm finishing my build and will be close to this but I'm in doubt with the sigil... I'm using the +condi per kill and the + burning duration one.

Fire counts towards f1's passive, and since it hits 5 targets and requires 1 crit it almost always applies damage + 2 aoe burn stacks. It's easily the highest dps sigil for any build with permeating wrath, I wouldn't skip it =D

There was a massive balance patch that cut damage and healing across the board about a month ago, dh actually got off light compared to every other dps. The decreased incoming damage makes it easier to play this as glassy as you'd like too, I'm using vipers with a tb amulet without much trouble surviving

@@adipecpipe7407 the latest is full vipers with a tb amulet. Sometimes I'll change the chest to tb as well if I'm getting focused lol
