I met Dave on the street before an autograph signing they were doing at a record store a few hours before they were set to preform. He was gracious, funny and kind enough to sign my white tshirt that I wore to their show that night. I was really upset when Dave died and it's just another example of the good going too soon. Rest In Peace Dave Brockie. I was lucky to have met you 🕯
I got to be in Dave's presence multiple times. He was always such an angel to me. The last tour I saw him on, he was no longer himself. He was distant, and mean, and we all knew something was up. A little later, we got the news. I cried that day. I cried for awhile. He was a wonderful, beautiful, kind, and funny man. I miss him every goddamn day. Hail Brockie. Hail Oderus.
Skelter and so it is with great awe and respect that I state that I 💯 percent believe you since other mere shock metal bands only *"perform"* while *GWAR "preforms"*
man, you've got to experience GWAR Live!!! to truly understand what makes GWAR one of the most insane mindblowing metal shows I've ever been to in my frickin life
Yeah and now that oderus is In Metal metal land the experience is not as invigorating and soul crushing I just can't get in to the new cow bat pig thing that's in his place bring back oderus ( find a new oderus) or some on that can fill the shoes the new gwar is not gwar only a name remains and its a shell of wat they was bring oderus back from the dead wish they could have found someone for the scumbag 30yr tour cuz it wasn't gwar
@@ramonavelasquez5149 maybe watch the doc and some Blothar interviews or think about who the suit with four dicks is hanging from. Oderus cant be matched, but Flattus was unrivaled, as well - AS ODERUS and AS FLATTUS. Blothar is Blothar, the Scumdogs are all still Scumdogs, and it's always been more than just the music and the costumes, or just one dude. Brockie said so, himself. Now let's pick apart the lore, bang our heads or shut up.
@@ramonavelasquez5149 I, too, was disappointed in the 30-year scumbag tour, but I assure you it's still GWAR. They are and always have been a COLLECTIVE,, not the work of one person. Oderus was known to hijack other members' ideas; he alienated several of them with his ego. The cow-thing gave his vocals to several of their songs long before Oderus left them. There will never be a new Oderus, those shoes are just too big to fill. If you're insinuating that their current live show pales in comparison to their peak, keep in mind they are in their 60s and we're lucky to still have a GWAR.
27:06... Hilarious thing about this is that Terry (in the yellow cap) represents the hip Richmond scene of the 1970's, and Mark (to his left) was the lead music critic for the Richmond Times-Dispatch, now a stuffy old conservative.
Best concert ever, Me and my girlfriend rode in a friend's trunk to one of there concerts due to lack of space. And my girlfriend and I was feed to the maggot on stage. And later got to party with Gear that night....
