0.5b comes with a variety of new features! Including:
- Cloth, Drain, Emitter, and Blackhole entities
- QOL changes
- Improved visuals
- Plenty of bugfixes

What if there was a setting for water to disappear when it touches actual baked in map water, so something like a waterfall could be made or something. Maybe the water could be a bit buoyant and disappear after a short while after touching the water. idk

or if you use a grav gun on a body of water you can take water from it like you'd do with a gwater pond not shrinking it by any means, just so you can have water without having god tools to spawn it infinitely or with emitters

+ An entity mappers could use to generate water. So they can create waterfalls, rivers, .. which use the GWater system.

Or make Gwater not collide with baked water, and if gwater is under baked water, make it invisible, but don't move because if we make water disappear when touching water, we won't be able to flood maps

Map interactions, do water particles consist or autodelete when in the map's water? Could make the black hole create particles when its near a body looking like it's pulling water out.

- ability for multiple fluid types to exist at the same time and possibly interact with each other (will probably need to rewrite lots of code) - pipes to move the fluid around - some other fluid interactions like putting out fires, damaging or healing players etc.

I mean the cloth is technically already a soft body, just doesn't have any volume constraints or any mesh other than the high poly plane. If he does do this, I think he should probably disable self collision for a soft body with volume constraints by default for performance. Dunno what kind of integration method he (or the library he's using) uses for the cloth, but if it's a modern version of Flex, then it probably uses Nvidia's XPBD, which was made for both softbodies of all kinds and rigidbodies of all kinds.

A community accelerated project is honestly the best kind of project, the water is supposed to be fun to play with so adding customization of all sorts and features to make it seem like theres infinite possibilitys is what would make the mod seem like the best one ever made.

An entity to enable water generated by the ceiling skybox could be incredible! With the water particles set to disappear a few seconds after landing. You could also have the option to change the rain's density, speed, wind, etc.

a particle limit slider can be found in the performance tab. By default it is 100,000, but can be raised to 1,000,000 if desired

@@Meetric1 yes, i know that, i meant the MAX limit, like that of the slider, also i DID get a good idea - i have no idea how youd code this, but some sort of stain feature: on by default, but toggleable, water particles could leave a stain when they hit map geometry (and maybe props), before evaportaing (toggleable) after a set time. perhaps add some sliders for size and translucency and mab - your water simulator is now the most accurate blood mod too!

Heres a potential use-case for your soft body cloth. Ive always wanted to see soft body props in garrys mod. Ones that can be deformed/broken/shredded/ripped.. If you could make an addon that can turn the props into soft bodys, the potential is very high. Imagine being able to hydraulic press a barrel with unique results every time..

I think maybe, because where the water is looks reflective that you could use that rendering but not as intensified on spots that would soak water, concrete, wood, woodplank, etc. and will store it in a list with a value of wetness and a position, when the wetness reaches zero it will be forgotten to save memory.

Been following your progress from early on, and I gotta say you've been knocking it out of the park with each update dude. I can't even imagine how I would've reacted to this in like 2009. Also, I think branching out and letting the community contribute to the addon is a brilliant idea. I'm still holding out hope for the cloth to be used on models, functional cloth physics is such a wet fever dream. I will gladly provide bloodborne assets for you to experiment with, or just anything with cloth or complex cloth; I would LOVE for something like that to be started. It's just that the normals aren't getting flipped on the backside. Could be fixed by checking winding in a geometry shader and flipping vertex normals if the winding is reversed (or in the fragment, inverting the normal if it's facing away from the view position)

Source 1 lacks the cool "water in a bottle" shader found in HL: Alyx. Introducing that for Source 1 would be cool. After that maybe make it a SWEP you can equip. That would lead to some hilarious gameplay like knocking a mug out of your hand makes it realistically spill, or looking up vertically spills it on your face in both first and third person. I guess that would be cool for machinima...if people still used GMOD for machinima lol PS - hot water hurts, cold water puts out fires or makes a tile floor slippery when wet....

Great addon, also I have and idea for it, add a customisable damage parameter, like how much and how frequent damage is, what type of damage, ect ect. That would be neat ( if it's actually possible)

It would be cool to be able to make a more interactable large body of water (like an ocean). Instead of doing it with pure water particles (which would probably be very expensive computationally) to instead have like a volume where if you go under you're swimming, but the surface would have like reactive waves that oscillate and affect props with realistic physics.

My jaw dropped on cloth sim.. Me personally need something like option to make rigid or fix location of particles in certain area so they stay in place and form where i left them Like you fill a dumpster with water, select a zone around it and now its fixed in air, then i can delete a dumpster prop and watch a flying blob of water in form of dumpster inside
