Twabiita. I wouldn't buy a house in Uganda right now even if money was it itching me. Nobody gonna steal my property in the US. I was born in Uganda but will only visit to see my parents graves and leave.
I have been saying this for years and people tell me mbu east or west home is best, mbu I don’t love my country. I’m glad I’m not alone. If I buy a house here, it’s of greater value, if it’s sold when I’m dead my family will benefit, my only child I have was born here and I don’t see him going back to Africa to live. My aunt died in covid times and up till now her ashes are still here, her house she built in Uganda is being occupied by relatives, her kids can’t even claim it or the land as they have British citizenship, the house is massive and beautiful but she didn’t sleep in it, her kids can’t use it or sell it as no Ugandan id ndagamuntu, any efforts to get that has been delayed, kwegamba it’s a mess. If she had bought a house for them I. U.K. it would have automatically passed into them and even if sold they’d get better value in pounds than shillings.
@@springvic5034 they will kill you if you show up to claim anything. They stole one of our properties in makerere and were ready to steal another one in kalerwe, we sold it before they did. Am sorry, fuck Uganda as far as am concerned.
@@miirobrightvisions Kyogereko!! The culture there is different. Uganda olemwa. I tell my family that you go to Uganda to spend not on holiday. The way I look at it is if I earn in pounds and invest in shillings, it has to be a massive project that automatically brings returns without too much involvement, otherwise I’ve seen people here sending merchandise for business and falling out with relatives they put in businesses.
