Quick tip to win mirrors with/against this deck : get a golyat and a heatwave in your deck so you can yeet Viy out by consuming Golyat with leader and roast it instantly.
You can also use squirrel to banish it, or the Ozzrel to consume it. Ozzrel is maybe a better option. But you have to wait a turn, so it would be best to use the Golyat when he passes.
@@guilhemp1383 If the opponent passes the turn (with Viy in his deck), use your Golyat and consume him immediately. That will pull the Viy out on the table, then you can pass too. Since the Viy was left on the table and not destroyed/consumed, he will go to the graveyard. Then, in the next round use Ozzrel or squirrel to remove him from the graveyard too. This will work, I tried it earlier this day in a random moster match, and it worked. I was kinda blown away by that to be honest, now I know how to counter the deck.
@@borisglibo4702 that might be the best way to do as it doesn't make you use your heatwave early. Running Ozzy probably isn't worth it as it's less value than a tutor for Viy (especially in later rounds) and isn't an essential tech like the holy yeetwave. Removing Viy from graveyard isn't even necessary because there is no way to resurect him.
If you're gonna play last wish and not the monsters location, just play the monster location. Use its order r1 or r2 so you ensure drawing it, and so it's like a tutor
If you play location and iharauax, you can also play decoy on iharauax to instantly get viy again, plus you have another chance to summon your opponents hp cost targets
@@potje8002 Jesus you need 3 cards to pull that off, but it must be a nightmare. I personally find location not too good in this deck, as sometimes you would still draw it next round and I'd rather play defender because you both need to protect the consumes and go very tall
@@snake698 Location and decoy alone work too because of the endrega token spawn. Defender is pretty expensive for such a deck, but a nice counter against heatwave i suppose.
@@potje8002 It's not heatwaves, northern realms or scoia'tael can just kill your consumes, nilfgaard locks them, etc. that's how you easily beat this deck
Unitnerractive card, around which you build the entire deck. May be fun, but no doubt: they will change it. That's not the direction they want Gwent to go.
@@pvdg3515 People were teching around everything, which doesn't mean nothing has been OP And it's the exact type of deck CDPR always removes - unitnerractive - binary (depends only on what you play against, no skill/draw required) If you to play counter (yrden/tall punish) everywhere or I lose to it, this deck needs to be changed.
run nilf, tall cards don't even scare me. I let em get huge and just steal em. ya, do all the work for me lol... this deck isn't that scary tbh at all, it does look satisfying to play tho...
Tier 0: Cat Witchers: A lot of auto engines and Gezras of Leyda like an insane finisher Tier 1: Bear Witchers: Combine Sukrus, Artyx and Arnaghad is really insane Tier 2: Viy, Viper Witchers: If your opponent don't have Yrden or Igni he will suffer a lot Tier 3: Griffin Wicthers: A lot of shield and some engines, but the griffin is nothing compared to Viy, the most balanced faction
Yea I was playing this for like 2 days but my brain began becoming smooth so I switched to good old SK warriors with Quen + Aranchad combo and I can fit a square piece into a square hole again... my recovery is slow but I might be able to turn on my coffee machine again soon
Dude, you can block his row with Vilem and you didn't need to consume 2nd time with barbegazi. I'm too lazy to do the math but this was maybe even winable and for sure much xloser than it looked.
My opponent played Ihuarraquax and did not consume Viy in the same turn. I passed and... well, he passed too. Not as braindead as people will have you believe hahaha!
@@ugnius2707 there was a scoiatael deck, made by Swim, based around making ciri super big, putting her back to your hand, and playing cards that would buff based around the power of a card in your hand
@@gimbaro still nothing like vyi. with vyi you getting great points constantly while in swims deck those cards who buffed ciri were probably playing for trash ass points
The dumbest thing about viy is the mirror bc it's literally a coinflip that decides who wins. Whoever has last say in the first round can just use the unicorn and wins lmao.
For people who doesn't speak Russian - in the Russian language the word clay-mixer used to be a coded slang for active gay (guess what clay he would be mixing?). Then clay-mixer got shortened to just clay. Finally the word clay become a word for "meta op heroes/skills/decks etc" that only a gay person would use. Это значение у слова глина есть только в русском языке.
Probably the same problem as unnerfed Master Mirror SK: mediocre players that get carried way too high by an easy to play op deck until they reach ranks where they have no business being considering their skill.
Why every one make problem for vyi wen you have armingad+surkus for skellige and movement witcher for scoiatel? A lot of faction have crazy combo and vyi deck are weak against tal punisher and ripristinaet, is not so broken
It's not that the card is unbeatable, its that the card is unhealty for the game in its current form. You can beat it 2 ways (3 if you count nilfgard card swaps and the impostor unicorn strat) : by going full uninteractive greed engine mode and u win round 1 ensuring u will have a long round 3, or by having an absurd amount of tall removals. If these 3 types of decks dominate the meta thats just a bit boring considering its new expansion time
@@adamvarro7404 well there is tal punish, ripristinaet, cahir, armingad+surkus, the other skellige card that damage every unit by Alf they strengt plus block or removal for your consume card. I don't say that this deck is weak, and onesty is prety easy to play, but is fun and there are a lot of things you can do for make it better. (in my version i put some difference like ruhein, succubus, imlerit wrath etc)
I called it out on reddit and I got 3 downvotes. I said that it should go down by 3 points instead of increasing. People called me a retard. Well who's laughing now lol?
I once got downvoted there because I dared suggest to some guy having connection issues and DCing all the time to use an ethernet cable... Shows you the average IQ of that community.

This is disgusting...0 conterplay, unless you have no consumes whatsoever, or a negative iq...and people complained about etheral that could produce 36 points at best, that also swarmed the row.
@@felixjuttner8460 yeah like heatwave, irden, igni, other tall punish. I get it, but its still unfair. At least ruehin is only 4 points and can be blocked or banished. This is 8 points at the beginning already. I mean everything is on steroids now, but its still pretty dumb.
@@xenadonau8356 yeah but ruehin doesn't see any play now, bc he has so much counterplay. Don't get me wrong, I agree that viy decks are kinda dumb, but I think the problem is much more how much they can commit in every round without being punished for it.
@@xenadonau8356 you may not have seen his video or understood the deck mechanism if you think that cards like irden or igni or heatwave can counter this card. The main idea about this card is that it never stays on board at the end of the turn, you may kill a buffed vyi consumer, but he will still have the card itself and some other consumer in deck (without counting the 3x leader ability) .how much time are you going to destroy those 20-30 power consumers since he is eating viy in average 8 times a game?
@@felixjuttner8460 "There's a lot of counterplay lol" not agree at all, and i would love to hear more abt it ? my only solution is goliat+heatwave (and its a very weak condition counter bc goliat could get locked, specific to monster only and it forces you to have goliat in deck) so...
Wilhelm theres so many decks like VIY deck in every faction this expansion, you just need to find out the decks and collect the cards if required earn keys and coins by playing draft mode before you craft all new cards. Its so far the best and most mad expansion, every faction is insane now. Yes gameplay has gone insane, but you have answers for every insane play too
It's not that I don't have the cards. It's just that I don't like the style of gameplay. I run a deck with CoC Heatwave Yrden and Dire Bear. It's very very strong I just don't enjoy the brain dead type of gameplay that's rampant right now.
@@riccardocarlini1746 I am forced to play brain dead strategies becouse everything else just looses. Last season my favorite deck was siege/resupply, I'd rather not slam Yrden, but to win against Stupid cards like Kolgrim Viy and Gezras to an extent you have to run Yrden.
