I personally like it too. Even if it's a bit over the top. At least it's not boring!

I personally like the front design of Tank 400 very much, but hated the unnecessary "design elements" added externally on the mirror, wheel arch and rear bumper. If the design language gets better aesthetic taste and bit more maturing, it will be a nicely unique design style that I would really love.

Very well articulated. Agree with everything you said.

I like the design of every boxy off-road car, including this Tank-400.. there is another new Chinese 4-wheel drive car called “JETOUR T2 Traveller”, right now it is selling like hot cakes in the markets of GCC Arab countries

Yep me too mate. And I've seen Jetour online and would have LOVED to find out that it's solidly built and affordable, but we don't have them over here, sadly. Australia needs more healthy competition from quality brands. GWM is one of them.

It's always good to see a walk around and opinion. I can't wait for another in-depth study of the vehicle. Spare wheel on the back with different plastic decortive plastic mouldings, has been done for decades by Jeep, Toyota, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Ford etc. It would have been a shit of a job, importing a car that's not in the domestic market ( i fear the cost) 😮 P.s. Everything in civilization is 'borrowed' , i.e., architecture, science / innovation, literature, and yes, centre console lids. Technically, everybody in the auto industry has borrowed from Karl Benz.😂

Exactly mate - everyone borrows and iterates on someone else's idea. Look at Toyota and where they have been in 1950s. Then - some borrowed ideas and tech, new way to control the flow of work (their TPS system and Kanban), and look where they are now.

Because the Tank 400 and the Tank 500 are products of the same platform, and while the Tank 500phev has been released in China, GMW still released the Tank 500hev in Russia and Thailand later, so I think if the Tank 400 will be launched in Australia, it will It is the hev version rather than the phev version. The hev will not be as powerful as the phev, but it does not need to be charged.

Very interesting points, e.g. I didn't know that HEV doesn't need charging while PHEV does. Why do they have the extra plug on the side then, if HEV doesn't need charging? 🤷‍♀️
@LeeLee-dt2xb
@LeeLee-dt2xb 5 месяцев назад
@@ValueCarsAU I think there are two reasons. First, because the battery is larger, PHEV can drive purely on electric power in urban areas, which saves money for people who can easily charge once or twice a week. Second, because a large battery can drive a larger motor, the PHEV is more powerful. However, if the PHEV model is used without charging at all, although the PHEV model can still maintain the battery power through the engine to generate electricity, due to the heavier weight of the car and the longer engine startup time, the PHEV model will consume more fuel than the HEV. So I think, GWM may launch the tank 400hev instead of phev according to the characteristics of the Australian market.

Hi mate, I've been watching your informative video. I need your valuable opinion to make a decision to buy my next car, I have a family of six and am looking to buy our next car and tossing between Kia Carnival hybrid and Carnival Diesel, very impressed with Tank 500 but waiting to test drive one, Mrs fell in love with the Carnival and it make more sense with family of 6 with plenty of boot space as well, my question is, if i go with Carnival then which one should i get, 1.6 turbo engine for hybrid which i think might be a bit underpowered for such a big car, what's your thoughts about it.

Hey mate, I'm no expert and everyone needs to take into account their personal and family situation and needs when making such a choice. For starters, KIA Carnival is a lot better known and established, in AU at least. Tank 500 looks great but you and I both have no idea how good is it in every aspect of life your large family would need it. Just based on that fact alone I would go with Carnival. Now, Hybrid... I'm sceptical about anything hybrid, personally, as it makes the technology more complex, petrol saving - questionable - and the price of the vehicle usually much higher. So sounds like you need to do some more research and then make your own call, but for one - I wouldn't wait for a Tank 500 if I had a family of 6 needing something reliable to drive around town in.

@ValueCarsAU Thanks a lot for your detailed reply mate, really appreciate that, I am was leaning towards diesel, and now, after your valuable input, I think should go with carnival diesel because it's been out for quite some time and hybrid is new for carnival so don't know how good it will be and like mention earlier that 1.6L turbo petrol is a bit questionable in my opinion, but once again thank you so much for your valuable input. Cheers

The amount of new cars that are coming out of china is mind blowing, and its not only volume its the innovation that these manufacturers are putting into these cars. Im not sure if Australia is ready for it.
@ValueCarsAU
@ValueCarsAU 5 месяцев назад
I know what you mean, Aussies have only so much capacity to embrace change, such as new cars - or even just models - on the market. But overall the extra choice is always a good thing!

@@ValueCarsAUThat's my point when these manufacturers land we are going to be spoilt for choice, it excites me but we'll see if the rest of the nation is ready.

Dongfeng Fengshen L7 (nice hybrid with 1500km range, 2.0 motor claiming to have industry leading efficiency of 45.18%) 6. Chery Fengyun A8 (hybrid, range 2000km,
