GWR 1450T Class 1400 0-4-2 tank loco with autocoaches at the Severn Valley Railway Gala Autumn 2015. The 1400 Class design dates back to Armstrong in 1868 but this loco was built by Collett at Swindon in 1935. The loco is designed to work with a push and pull autocoach and is seen here at Bewdley with two of them. First with No. 178 in chocolate and cream and then with both with the loco in the middle. They were designed for branch passenger work and saved the loco running round. As the maroon autocoach Chaffinch enters Bewdley the driver can be seen operating the regulator. He is also able to operate the brakes and whistle and communicates with the fireman on the engine with bells.
